Depends on the 'racing' you're talking about. Obviously they're used on Top Fuel dragsters but you'll never see them in an endurance car because they aren't durable like turbos. At high RPM they'll cook, and you risk shreding belts all the time too.

Excuse me Mr. PorscheG96 ... cough cough GURU... you stud you! <img src="graemlins/roflmao.gif" border="0" alt="[hiha]" />

You really showed me! Maybe I should sell my Porsches because I'm not fit to own them?

You're obviously ignorant with respect to John Anderson, and what he's done to the people around him (ex friends).... as well as to his customers. It's not your fault... several other people made the same mistake as you.

John Anderson simply does not stand by his word nor does he stand by his work. These are facts, not opinions.

If you were a little more informed you might not sound like such an idiot.

My posts on the 968 list DIRECTLY RESULTED IN SEVERAL POTENTIAL JOHN ANDERSON CUSTOMERS CALLING ME AND/OR EMAILING ME PERSONALLY TO HEAR ABOUT THE HORROR STORIES RESULTING FROM A "FAMOUS JOHN ANDERSON ENGINE". My goal was to tell my story. And tell my story I did. Nothing but the facts.

I bet the customers he lost aren't laughing me off the 968 list

Oh.. one last thing Mr. PorscheG96 Porsche GURU

Get your facts straight. Maybe Daddy didn't tell you that there are many factory auto on the market today that carry 50,000-100,000 mile warranties that use superchargers.

Further, there are also many different types of superchargers that make full boost WELL BEFORE redline, and WELL BEFORE 2500 rpms.

Hint: Use a different supercharger

Delete A/C on a 968? What fool would do that on a street car? Recent temps in Los Angeles have been well over 100F for some time now. Imagine no A/C?

Hint: Fabricate a CNC intake manifold along with a different supercharger

Oh my? There's already a tuner out there that has this?

Hint: John Andersons former employer (the place where he picked up his current limited skill set)

And.. the turbo is FAR from proven. Talk to anybody that has had to replace the boost controller, wastegate, collapsed double walled stainless exhaust, weld/replace stainless headers, remove broken exhaust studs, replaced turbos due to many things like bad seals, bad bearings, and let's not forget about all the excess heat generated by the turbo/exhaust that cook everything plastic under the hood.

Yes.. turbos sure are proven!

Oh.... I'm sorry.. was I trolling again? <img src="graemlins/wave.gif" border="0" alt="[byebye]" />

Tony and others.

Regardless of what you say, John is one of the most respectful and friendly guys that I know. He is always willing to go out of his way to help someone out. Check out the HUGE response he posted to helping the guy who had the cup clutch question. And not ONCE did he solicit his own company and try to sell anything. (Unlike two other tuners that I am always seeing pop up on the board) On top of that, John has people calling him from all over the US to get help with their car and John spends countless hours over the phone helping customers and even people who arent planning to buy anything from John.

Heck, the guy even installed a clutch on a car while on the phone the whole time helping a guy on the east coast with a head gasket replacement.

I am the kind of person who does not take or give respect easily, it usually takes me a long tome to trust another individual and really feel secure with them. I would confidently say that I would trust John to handle any situation that I needed help in because of the fact that I know he would be there for me or anyone of his friends when they needed him.

Any accusations or contentions that you have against John Anderson are obviously not fully processed and you probably do not know the whole story behind the situation.

I am not here to help promote his company and tell everyone "If you dont go with Anderson then you might as well kick yourself in the ***." I am simply standing up for John's character the same way he would stand up for me, and giving him the respect and credit that he FULLY deserves.

take care,

SHAUN

Hey Shaun

Giving out direction, explanation, or general information about Porsche related issues without tyring to push ones company in any obvious way is great (like this is saying a lot). That's what this list is for in my opinion.

But... I'm not talking about giving out direction, explanation, or general information. Maybe I've not made myself clear. I'm talking about poor quality of labor, failure to double check things, failure to even tighten down sooooooo many things that I lost count. And when you spend well in excess of $10,000 with someone, you expect things to be done correctly. And if they aren't, you expect them to stop what they are doing, appologize, and FIX it. Pretty simple really.

Instead what I got were:

Lies
Deception
Failure to perform in a timely maner (6+ months)
Failure to communicate
Failure to follow instructions
Failure of the engine (200 miles)
Failure to correct
on and on....

And it doesn't stop there.

So while you might thing John Anderson is a nice guy, and for the most part he really is, he simply does not have the financial backing, to cover the cost to rebuild his own work when it fails. Failures eat up labor and expensive parts. Imagine what happened when a rod came apart in a new engine....

Furthermore, he won't accept responsibility for his actions. Instead he splits and leaves other people with the "bag".

Now on top of all this, add in how he screwed two of my other friends on a business level (especially Tim Richards), and you have a person that simply doesn't understand basic values in life, doesn't have respect for himself or others, doesn't care about the truth, and is simply lacking in CHARACTER.

What you see is not always what you get.

y'all need to stop.

There is no way that anyone is going to make any kind of point on rennlist that's going to change someone's mind about anything.

Some of the more helpful and reasonable people on this site don't comment at all on the whole huntley/anderson/SFR/etc. thing. That should be an example. I can understand john and shaun's need to defend themselves, I can't blame them for posting responses, but anyone who goes out of their way to antagonize and slam any of the tuners is just blowing hot air. Please stop, we've heard both sides of the story 100 times already.

Log off, and go driving. <img src="graemlins/beerchug.gif" border="0" alt="[cheers]" />

TonyG.....I haven't been around very long but I have to say you dwell on your engine failure allot.. and you seem to praise Huntley...well from what I can tell I can find upset Huntley customers Versus John Anderson 10 to 1

and I believe Huntley is a customer of yours...THIS MAKES YOU BIAS....

Just let it go...you are wasting your time and energy....

I personally have never done an ounce of business with either Huntley or JohnAnderson.

You're correct. Huntley is a customer of ours. He pays us $39.95 per month.

Do I get a special deal from Huntley because of our relationship?

Let's see... two weeks ago I just spent $2200 with Huntley for adjustable coil over suspension. Look on his web site and see what he sells this stuff for. Where's the bias?

It's you that has never done business with these people. I have. And a lot of it.

Dwell on my engine failure? Go through the loss that I did and then you can talk about dwelling.

It's called making people aware. I've got nothing to lose. While you may think I'm wasting my time, rest assured that all the people that have written me privately and called me don't agree.

??? Inquiring minds want to know. ???

It's hard to separate the truth from the "hearsay" here. I scares me to think that I am considering plunking down $5000+ with one of these individuals this winter with all of this bickering and complaining I see.

This is just like another mechanic story and almost as bad as the Charlesworth thread a few months ago. Give it a rest. In the end its all our own damn money and we will damn well spend it where we want to. People have bad experiences all the time,,,we all have opinions on tires, shocks: Bilstein, Koni, Leda; lets start a thread on Pro Choice or Pro life,,the death penalty, farm subsidies, childrens education, our US Senators and their retirement!

People tried something new, who knows what will happen - good or bad, it was information to share.

You know...Robert Oppenheimer tried something new........good or bad?

Through with this.

BTW G96, good luck with YOUR car.

A supercharger is always making full boost for the given engine speed. Well, twin screw types at least.
