I just got a great quote from grundy. Very respectable. anyone dealt with them??
Is there really any benefit about staying with your current Ins co for a long time??

Grundy and the other specialty insurers require the insured vehicle NOT be your daily driver. In addition, you are required to have a separate car, with insurance, for every licensed driver in your household. The Grundy insured car must also be garaged. Other than that the rates are super cheap!

Progressive has been a good to me, my record ain't the 23-year-old male best. 944 is my one and only. USAA is also a very good company.

I've been with Progressive. They're no the cheapest but their service when I had an accident (my own fault) was superb.

I called it in, a guy arrived to look at the car within 1 hr, examined the car and made a repair estimate. He wrote me a check for $6K on the spot and told me that he was probably underestimating the total cost but simply have the body shop forward any additional costs.

I admit that I was blown away.

I just got all state but they dont cover DE events so i will haveto switch again soon

I've had progressive for about 6 years now and have been more than pleased with them... until I got my annual premium for the '89 for '03. It was close to $1500 (not a typo). I explained the whole "I barely drive it thing", no discount.

Several months ago I posted about this subject and was refered to Lelan-West in CA. I saved a little over $1000 by going through them. There was some hoops that I had to jump through but hey I'll stand on my head if I have to save $1000.

I'm happy for the moment. Let's hope I don't have a claim and test the waters of their claims department

I'v had State farm for over 10 years, but Grundy was less than 1/2 the annual premium..

It just seemed odd..

I use Allstate, looked at a couple of the specialty guys and somehow it just seemed too good to be true. I pay $552 for the 944. $660 for the 911 yearly. Full coverage, unlimited mileage blaaah blaah blaah. Honesty, I dont care, the money comes out of the house account and until she screams I just ignore. Makes life stress free

There are companies that exist that are actually good with Claims. Obviously you will have to pay a somehwat higher premium for such trustoworthy companies, but to say that "Insurance companies are lower than whale.." ****e is quite recockulous.

Nooone has mentioned the important part of auto insurance or any other insurance for that matter: The coverages. You could simply post a monetary bond to the state that you live in if you wanted to be legal. You could give you money to a company that will simply disappear when you have claim - hey - it'll be CHEAPER.

Your claims experience, while sometimes totally based upon a company record, is usually based on the whim of whomever actually looks at your car and writes the claim.

I'll tell ya what. I've had Geico for over 8 years and they are so friendly and cheap it's stupid. I have full coverage on my S2 Cabrio and Bimmer. And last summer when I totaled the Bimmer in a head on they did not even raise my premiums. They took care of everything.
