How much insurance did he have? If his liability is larger that the amount that he was insured for, the difference gets passed along to him. Well, at least in Oregon. The minumum coverage in Oregon is 25k per person, 50k total. This can EASILY be surpassed by medical bills alone.

My suggestion if you own your own house: 100k/300k coverage and then an umbrella policy.

Wow, That's amazing. You must have something really important left to do in life. You definitely had a guardian angel with you that day. Glad you are ok... You can replace the p-car, though you always seem to miss something. I will not get in a car without a seatbelt after a bad accident I was hurt in. I had mine on but I lived. Good luck, get well soon! <img border="0" alt="[bigbye]" title="" src="graemlins/xyxwave.gif" /> Let us know what happens

about 2 weeks ago my 87 Na 944 and I were goin home from the girl's when a drunk driving a Dodge Ram coming down a hill tried to turn thru an intersection at a bout 90 while i was going thru, going the opposite direction. He smashed into the front left corner and sorta slid back down the side pushing the car sideways in to the curb. The wheels broke off the axels and it went over the curb into a turkey hill lot right past the pumps. I had no seatbelt but im ok, i got about 40 stitches in the face and a concussion.

You should have died in that wreak the No-seat belts should have killed you. You prolly wouldn't have any damage to your body if the belts had been on. All things considerd you are very lucky. I really thing that all repete drunk drivers should be shot on the scene. Why? you ask.... Because in the end you would save more lifes if this happend. They should make that a law drive drunk and die. (HEHE)

If you're up to it, the hershey swap meet is only a few weeks away. That's your best bet for finding a great 951 in this area, I bought mine there a year ago.

haha ya we were talkin about that. hopefully he got some action in teh shower at jail.
someone asked where i got the stitches, there were like 10 obove my eye, 15 in my chin, 7 in my lip and like 7 or 8 in my chin.
I actually live just west of the city on marietta ave near Rhorhstown road.
what is teh hershey swap exactly, i know nothing about it. theres a very nice 951 with 75k, at about 10grand down in the philly area that i hope to take a look at. from the pictures it looks great tho. ya i normaly do wear the seatbelt but liek i said i was exhausted that night and normally its such a quiet easy drive home at that hour. oh well learned my lesson.
I just met with a lawyer yesterday alittle bit and im being paid the most the guys insurance will pay for the car which is 5,000, the car was checked out and said to be worth abotu 6300 so the insurance company isnt paying the full value meaning the cant take the ownership, so i get the pile of twisted metal. what does anyone think i should do??? junk yard?, part it out? i think the engine is in fairly good condition by the pictuers ive seen. maybe just the radiator fluid resvoir and the air box got destroyed. sorry this post is waaay to longill stop

there is nothing left to part out. I would just let it go.
PS keep the centercaps as a reminder of that night! (or sell them at hershey)

Looking at the pictures, it is amazing that you're weren't hurt any worse. And I thought my 924S looked bad after getting hit by a Dodge Ram!

This just reinforces my feelings that these are great cars, you're well protected when that awful event occurs. I walked away from my accident with only minor injuries also, after being hit almost head on by a Dodge Ram doing about 50mph.

Hope those stitches heal quickly, and from now on, wear your seat belt. You'd probably been spared at least some of the stitches if you'd had it on. Good luck on your search for a new 951!

Pat
