Default 968 upper strut nut

I've decided to stay with the upper strut bearing. For all the tools in the box I don't have ones to loosen the top nut to switch out the stock shock for the Koni. Can anyone point me in the right direction. It seems like a Hex (allen) and a deep box wrench is needed. Anyone?

Yep, Get out the torch and bend a long boxend wrench to fit. Cheap tool to make yourself.

Cheers,

Or find someone with an air tool. A strong one can back the nut off the shaft easily.

two good ideas. I have air but doubt its strong enough. I tried my cordless DeWalt 18 v drill on it and that didn't work. I have an old box wrench and torches so that'll be phase 2. Thanks.

I use an electric impact. Works fine.

If it's the same size as the S (22mm?) you can use an O2 sensor socket. I used the ~$10 dollar OEM brand from autozone. It's a straight through open socket with the square drive offset at the top, kind of like this one but deeper (and cheaper):

Craftsman deep offset box wrench's work to loosen/tighten the nut with access for an allen driver.

I didn't have an impact wrench. Soaking in WD-40 and some focused heat on the nut from a propane torch finally worked. It's also difficult to get a grip on the strut shaft (vice grips?), otherwise that just twists.
