Post Aluminum Fuel Door

I know a lot of you might want to say Rice, but I actually like the look. If you don't know what I'm talking about think of like the Viper GTS style gas cap or something along those lines. Anyone have any idea of any kits that will allow us to make something that looks like that, or anything along those lines?

I agree with daredevil, I like the look on the viper and even on the 3g eclipse (I know oem is plastic) but the 944 looks good as it is.

The gas cap itself is cool. No doubt there. But it might not look right with the rest of the car as a whole. For example you might need some side exiting exhaust to go along with it.

My thoughts are that Porsches usually have more of a feminine look then pure testosterone. A Viper obviously 'looks' tougher then a 944, but both are good looking in their own right. And I would attribute an aluminum gas door to go along with more of a 'tough' car look.

Obviously to each his own and if you can make it look good then I say go for it. But I'm not sure I'd stick that kind of cosmetic upgrade on a car that has a completly bone stock factory look.

This might be tough if you want a real metal one. Consider that the current cover is curved to mate with the fender line. Then again, if all you want is a decal to put on top of the existing cover.....

Naw, just wayyyy too cheesy for me (although it may look better than mine does now, all the paint has worn off the edges of it).

Hmm...I had a few ideas of how to do it:

1) Replace the current door with an aluminum one. Would be hard to not have it look real fake/pathetic though.

2) Remove door altogether and just get some kind of aluminum gas cap w/ a lid like an old jelly jar (i.e. Viper). Biggest problem I could see here is that the rest of the fuel door area doesn't really look that hot (i.e. drain holes, holes from where old door was screwed in, plus it's not really finished anyways).

Anyways yes I agree that the Porsche's tend to have a more feminine look, but with the fiberwerks front end on mine I've gained a more "tom boy" look. I just think the aluminum gas cap would make it look more like a racecar as well.

Just I can't see spending $100+ on a gas cap.

The Flushmount ones would look pretty good, but would require a crazy amount of bodywork to install correctly.

I was looking to spend like $30 or so on a little piece to make it look a little better. What mods can I do for $30 that would make it go faster (it's an NA remember).

As for the DE idea, every one I've seen costs at least $200/day.
