Post Can't Figure Out Several Buttons On My Stock Radio. Anyone have Manual?

Here is a pic of my stock radio. I can't figure out several of the buttons. Does anybody have a scan of the manual for this. I have a manual for the EQ that came with the car, but nothing for the actual radio itself. The owners manual for the car says nothing about my radio.

Gobogie, what model Blaupunkt is that, and which buttons can you not figure out?

Look up Blaupunkt on the Internet and see if you can find a customer service telephone number. Tell them the model number and ask them for a manual. I did this for my radio, and the told me the manual was out of print. However, the person I spoke with photocopied the manual and faxed it to me! How's that for great service? Needless to say, I replaced the original Blaupunkt with another Blau. I think that after purchasing the new unit I threw out the photocopied manual, but I'll look around.

Anyway, I suggest giving Blaupunkt a call.

I've got the Blaupunkt manual for a "Charleston SQR 26" if that helps.

Where do I find what model number it is, is it somewhere on the stereo itself?

I do believe I have what you want. That Radio is a Reno SQR 46, (Mine says so right on the front, under the "program" buttons) the same one that came in my 89 951. Let me know if you are unsuccessful with the fax route, and maybe we can work something out. I have a copy machine available.

Good Luck!! <img src="graemlins/beerchug.gif" border="0" alt="[cheers]" />

FWIW, I replaced my head unit with a Kenwood Mp3/Cd player and found a HUGE improvement in the sound quality. I know Blaupunkt is a quality unit, but cassettes just don't cut it anymore, and the tuner stunk on anything but the strongest stations. It was practically a snap-in swap except for splicing the wires. Of course, I kept the factory piece in case I ever want to go back to original.

I thought for sure the model number (or name) was on the front of the unit. If not, then I'm sure there are model and serial numbers on the back.

I looked in my shed today, and I realized that I did toss both my old stereo and instructions in the garbage. There is no way I'll ever go back to a cassette deck.

That makes me think, why are you still in the analog world? For less than $200 you can get a CD player that will sound much better than your cassette deck!

Cheers,

Mark

Let's just say that since I bought it about 2 months ago, I've barely had time to drive it. I work 40+ and am taking 14 cr. hrs. currently. Not to count other responsibilties that I'm doing. Let's just say that I don't have time to barely drive it so far let alone swap radios.

I know, it's a shame but oh well. I wasn't exactly ready to buy this car just yet, but this one came along and I couldn't pass it up. The good thing is, she'll be sitting for me when I get through school.

Take Care,
Cory

PS I do plan on swaping eventually.
