Default torsion bar required tools

I'm just checking on what's all needed.

i got all basics, wrenches sockets up to 24mm. triple square set for cv's.

i read one of the DIY's and says i need a 27mm and 36mm wrench...what is that for? can i get away with just a crescent? having a hard time even finding those sizes in wrench sets.

You can avoid taking off the CVs by instead dropping your exhaust. Why undo a dozen weird bolts on a critical part of the car when you can just undo five bolts on non-critical parts?

so just leave the axles connected while dropping it down to the ground? i'm find with that too hehe. i dont' remember if my exhaust pipe was above or below the axle. says in guide that aftermarket exhausts are below axle.

What are you yaking it off for? if you are just re-indexing then leave shafts on if you are going to remove it to replace bushes or tyr to lower suspension then take the shafts off leave swing arms on and just un bolt the spring plate from the swing arm.

No need to drop it. You use the "tilt" method, unbolting the end plates, shocks and lower/outer bushings, then pry the torsion tube down low enough to pull the t-bar out on one side, then the other.

There's a great 3-part write up with pictures here that shows how to do it. Big azz pry bar comes in handy.

Once you're done, you can't stop wondering what sadistic bastard designed the t-bar end plates to fit behind the fender, requiring so much work to pull the end plate out 6 inches

I was actually thinking about just cutting off the lower corners of the fenders and fabbing up some sort of dzuse fastner gig to reinstall the pieces after I was done. Course my car is track only so if it's a little ugly no biggie.(convenience outweighs looks for me) I yanked the rear tube assy from my parts car, talk about a biAch !!

People have done that. Some have added portholes.

That's about my use profile. What are your plans with the front suspension?

350lb coilovers just installed a month ago.

rest of it is koni's . 23(i think) front sway. 18mm rear sway. 205/55/16 front 225/50/16 rear.

last summer i had welt 200's and stock rear tbar and it was pretty neutral with just a hair of throttle over.
