Cost of Belt change

It's around a thousand bucks. It's not just the belts. You have labour and then a mess of pieces parts: waterpump, fresh tensioners/rollers, seals, t-stat, and of course fresh anti-freeze. I know that some will disagree with my parts list, but my attitude is since you are in there anyway it is best to replace all the little things that you can.

I just payed $1100 for belts, water pump, etc. It also included draining and refilling the transaxle and checking out the car in general because I just bought it last week without getting a PPO. No problems. The shop is called Dinardo's in Horsham, PA. Really nice guys.

If there are NO other issues, a simple belt change will run around $250 for labor (varies by region) and $100 for belts (varies by shop). Retensioning, if not included with the original work, will run around $50. Rollers, water pump, etc. will obviously add to the total.

Both TaboII and icat are Keith's. I believe the reference was to me - icat. The prices I gave are from the shop I use in Houston, ProTechnik. They are an independent shop in the Stafford area (SW Houston) with a wrench that owns a beautiful white 86 951. So I pretty much know the work is done right the first time. Prices were from work done very recently, so the total dollars should be what you would expect to pay. Once again, pricing varies by region.
