Default FS (4) Ford 36# injectors "Brown tops"

I have for sale a set of 4 Ford fuel injectors, commonly known as "Brown Tops", rated at 36lb/hr. They have an impedance of 2.4 ohms (low-Z). They are all in good working condition. These use standard Ford/Porsche fuel injector seal kits ($2.50 a kit at Kragen) and I can include those if you want.

Looking to get $65 shipped for the set anywhere in the US.

These will plug right in to an NA's intake manifold, and use the same wire connectors. No ballast resistors needed. These would be useful for people planning to boost their NA's with a supercharger or turbo. These, if tuned in properly, should support around 300HP.

I was going to use these on my supercharger project but have decided to get bigger injectors so I can run E85.

GERR why do you have to sell them at Xmas time when everyone is broke!!!!

if you dont sell them i would be interested after all the holidays and such! if you find a buyer though dont hold back!

EDIT: what rate are you going with for the E85! 55lb? also wouldn't those 36's work....stock is 22lb right....and e85 takes 30% more fuel...36 would be 33% or so more...

phil,

the 55s will be a little larger than necessary to run E85 at my expected power level. then when i need to run gas, i can turn them down with the FQS and they will act like ~36lbers.

with all your megasquirting (lol) are you going to turbo your NA? lol

i think these would be marvelous injectors for a callaway-type build, and you wouldnt need any fancy microcontroller or fifth injector. these injectors if tuned in right should be good for about 280hp, maybe more with a 3bar FPR

280hp is about what im hoping to max out on. I already have an afpr, im just trying to figure out how to connect up a late fuel rail to the early fuel lines. Im thinking about making new ss braided lines w/ -AN fittings all the way from the tank.

Pm me if you want and i can give you all the details of what ive done to retrofit my early car. Its quite a bit of work. Have you decided how your going to mount your IC yet?

What turbo??

also these injectors do work quite well even as replacements on a 951.

Andy,
Have you thought about pulling fuel lines fom a late car?? I thought about doing this after making the hoses for the early to late setup. You may save enough in heat wrap to justify buying te newer style lines.

You should be able to get AN fittings to adapt to the rubber lines at the firewall on the old version too. That is what I did on my 83.

The turbo is a Garrett T3/T3 .60 trim .63 A/R

You mean run late fuel lines all the way from the tank? I dont really want to drill holes in the firewall for the late style lines. But that is an option. It would be nice to have new lines though. Do you have any pics of your lines?

Oh and i keep forgetting to ask you, how did you mount up the intercooler? I welded in the entire hood latch piece from a 951, but the frame cross member that the IC actually sits on is about an inch higher then on the earlys. Thus the IC sits about an inch higher than it should and the header panel will not clear.

The holes would be in the fenderwell

I don't have any pics of them (of any of it really). On track in Denver has all the fittings in stock though.

My car has all the structure cut out and the IC sits lower. I will be making a brace out of round tube to replace the metal removed. Also I am using a fibreglass front nose so there is a ton of room

I will be bringing it to my house to work on as soon as I get the clutch swapped out of the 87 turbo. Hopefully I can have it driveable when you came by.

I'm right off I 25 so we could get together pretty easy.
