Post PET 5

Anyone got any tips on how to use PET 5 with Windows XP Home Edition? I'm so tired of being the IT manager for my personal garage. Rather be driving and snowmobiling.
Thanks for any help.

I'm using PET 5 with XP professional no problems...I don't see why home would give any issues....I have both installed though (home came with the PC, I installed professional and left home)...so I'll give it a shot in home later.

Just set your resolution to 1280x1024 and you're good to go...or I was...

Is there a way to change the screen resolution with a script that could run before and after launching the program? I.e., change it to the required resolution, and then back to whatever it was before?

the only problem that i have had with the pet5 program on XP is the fact that it installs itself into the C: directory and doesnt let you change it to the PROGRAM FILES dir.

as for the resolution, i dont find it THAT hard to just switch every time im going to use it

Thanks for the responses folks. Perhaps I should have clarified my situation. Resolution is no problem - I'm already at 1280 x 1024. My problem is that with the two files in the C drive, which particular set of keystrokes on which particular application file will get the thing running? Random clicking on everything with a *EXE extension is getting me nowhere.

C:\pet_prog\W_SELECT.EXE

thats the program file, make sure you also run hardlock.exe on the cd.

To bad noone's trying it on Win2k - I'm trying to figgure out why it's eating so damn much processor use (100% on an AMD 2200+ w/ a gig of ram, the 'puter isn't slow). Damn annoying - and it won't even open up all the time.

*grumbles* Any Win2k PET users out there?

Yeah, I use Win2k.

No real problems. Just haven't figured out how to put in prices yet. Anyone have a price list or instructions for importing one?

As far as I know, the pricing is disabled. I'm sure that Porsche wouldn't want 1000 people logging into their servers to update their illegal programs! With their track record, they would probably track everone down individually.

Anyone have a PET program that is newer than PET5?

I'm using PET5 on Windows 2000 Professional. Not one single problem. I couldn't get the price feature to work either. I figure with some of the high Porsche parts prices, I'd rather not know.
