Seen similar styles. Popular in the 1980s.. BBS, Ronal, Rial and maybe some others all made similar designs. Supposedly helped with brake cooling.

Without changing to a wider bodied fenders I doubt he'll be able to get any wider than late offset 951 phone dials. I believe they run 7 up front and 8 in the rear. Another option for the 931 is staggered cookie cutters, running 6X15s up front and 7X15s in the rear. The cookies have a more aggressive appearance on the 931 than the phonies, plus look better with black centers.

7.5 should still fit depending on what tire size he runs. If he has any rubbing issues then it probably will not hurt to go with a lower profile tire, or narrow down 1 or 2 sizes.

Going from a 55 series tire to a 50 series tire makes a huge difference, and will probably help the look of the car as well

If it were me, I'd do what it takes to be able to use a rare, awesome set of wheels like those on my car!

Different bolt patterns, same wheels. The top ones are 4x108 from an ealry 924/931. Second could be 5x130

Very rare wheels.

I think 5x130 in these wheels is rare/unobtainable. I dont think i've ever seen them.

They have a bunch of 4 lug wheels around in the turbo style and the 3 piece version. You can see the 3pc versions on some hillclimb cars in europe.

They are very similar to schmidt/compomotive th line.

Those are actually wheel fans bolted to 3 piece BBS wheels for brake cooling....probably where Ronal got the idea for the Turbo wheels

@O.P.
Those are 4x108 Ronal R10 Turbos (not exactly the same wheel as the one mentioned above). That specific car was (and as far as I know, still is) owned by Neil924, an erstwhile regular poster on 924board. He disappeared some time ago after a disagreement with the forum admin, as I recall. I have never seen any pix of those wheels anywhere else.

Front tires are 225/50/15 BF Goodrich G Force as are the new set
Rear tires are 245/50/15 BF Goodrich Comp T/A the new set are 245/50/15 Dunlop SP 8000's.

As for offsets and modifications. I don't know and don't care as the fenders are wide/ big enough to hold these wheels and tires... just barely.
For more wheel pix than you can shake a stick at, see here.

I neglected to also mention, that thread I linked to has tons of valuable information regarding the widths and offsets that can be safely installed on an unmodified narrow-body 924 / 931 / 924S.
