What do you mean by hex? Is that what we in uk would call an allen bolt ? If so try hammering in a slightly larger size torx bit as this will usually work.If not then tack weld on a nut and use that.

For real though ..... If you can get a drill on them, you CAN drill the heads off. Then hopefully vise grip the stud out...

The method I would begin with is using a hammer and punch. Use the punch on the side of the head. Try to hit them around in a circle to loosen them. (Hard to explain what I mean, ask if I need to try to explain again)

try drilling it partially, then using an easy out tool to back it out- if that doesnt work, maybe hammering a torx bit in there will work.

-Saw a slot in the head of the bolt and use a flat-head screwdriver.
-Vice grips
-Hammer and large flat-head screwdriver. Angle the driver on the head and pound the head in the counter-clockwise position. In other words: hammer it loose.

this happened to me on my white car! Dremmel fits between the tracks nicely. First try to cut a slot for a screw driver, then hit the screwdriver with a hammer to seat it before trying to turn it.

It only took me about 15 mins and multiple curse-words! haha

realy not that bad with the dremel and cutoff wheel.

EDIT: Marquito beat me to the process. dremel makes the process faster, though!

If you resort to drilling, use a left-hand twist drill about 1/4" diameter. 9 times out of 10, after a few turns, the bit will bite into the screw and start twisting it out.

EZ-outs break off in the bolt as often as not.

I wouldnt so much hammer it but the vise grip on the handle and pushing down really hard and trying to turn it out sometimes works...

These are the ways I would try in order of ease and sureness... Torx, if it dont work try Slotting the Head, if that dont work reverse drill with counter clockwise cutting drill bit...

Chisel and a hammer to back it out as if you were removing it with a ratchet.

What about those socket bolt extractors? I realize they are for hex head bolts but it may be worth a shot...

Try using a torx first. It usually works. If that doesnt work then just do the dremel slot screwdriver deal.
