Used parts, like a bumper shock, will be pretty cheap - especially from here. But, expect to have $4K into it before it's "nice".

Good luck with the car, I own two $1200 cars and yeah, have about $4k total into each of them. Lots of fun! A lot more fun than an $8k Hyundai!

$600? Heck yeah, it kills me how cheap 944s go for these days. Spent a good amount of money on my car to keep it running, but wouldn't trade it for anything. I'll never be able to go back to anything else again. But I'm with Van, get parts from the guys on here, they'll give you good parts for great prices, they'll hook you up. But get her running, take her for a mountain sprint, then get her back into the garage, and keep on working, ha. Good luck!
