I use a 12 pound $70 Magna Power AGM motorcycle battery from Auto Zone that is 3 years old and still going strong. Car fires right up and I rarely charge it. It's a track car though, so not much in the way of electronics.
And yeah, the aforementioned batteries are all made at EPM in PA. Next time I need a battery I am going to buy the one with the Big Crank label, just so I can tell people I have a....

That would double the value of my daily driver and you still have to refit the lead acid battery when it's cold. BTW, do Boxster owners know how to change a battery?

Why not. got Odyssey 680 last summer and did it's job well.
I have battery cut off switch, othervise car alarm would kill the battery, i guess (would recommend the kill switch with all batteries that have low Ah ratios)

I hooked up a $20 harbor freight 12v solar charger in my car and it's giving a nice small trickle charge to the PC 680 (it's in an old Civic hatch where I could easily mount it to the hatch cover as battery is in truck - take some weight off of the front).

Also picked up a Deka from Ebay for half the price of the Braille. So far so good but I think the Braille is better as it has more CCA.
I don't think Deka and Braille is made by the same manufacturer but I could be mistaken.

I've had the Autozone battery previously mentioned in my 951 with full factory electricals in it and its worked well for two plus years, including two trips from KC to Vegas. It cost me $89 and saved me around 20lbs, I am pretty happy with that, The only thing I do is make sure I disconnect the battery if its going to sit for longer than a week and I do have a battery tender than I use with it regularly.
Since the unit I got was made for a motorcycle and I have the Ice Shark power cables, I put 10mm studs in place of the bolts on the battery and removed the battery lugs on the cables, and then used a wingnut to make disconnects easier.
Regards,

I have a Deka 18 battery. Started the engine 2.7 liter fine in -15 to -20C weather, with very little cold start tuning done (think lots of cranking).
