I admit that I am a pretty aggressive driver on the highway. I have one pet peeve that also bothers me at some DE events (but mostly on the highway).
There's nothing worse that the situation where a slow car (A) camps in the left lane, and then some non-aggressive driver (B) camps out behind him. (A) doesn't really know that he's holding anybody up because (B) is just cruising nicely behind him. (B) is mad because (A) won't let him by. Cars (C) come up behind (B) and he figures there's nothing he can do.
If (C) is an aggressive driver, be will rightly (here's the kicker) ride (B's) butt to get him out of the way, so that (C) can ride (A) butt and get him the hell out of the left lane.
If (C, D, E, etc) are not that aggressive, traffic will slow for miles.
This happens often and the right lane travels at 2mph over the speed limit and the left lane travels at 5mph over the limit.

We'll see who's listening when you want to complain about something, anything.

Zoltan,
As you have been quite opinionated about this subject in the past I will give you this piece of advice... "People in glass houses shouldn't through rocks at there neighbors".

To expand upon that. Germany I hear is boycotting US goods because of the war.

People in glass countries should not...

Sounds ugly to me. I wouldn't be boasting about an incident like that.

Why is that when someone is driving slower than us, we tend to call them IDIOTS but then when someone drives faster than us we call them MORONS?

HEY Z-MAN , if I understood you correctly you were in a "SUBARU" , in the left (passing) lane ?
Who told you that your allowed to do this?!!?!,
your salesman , you say! "that figures". Keep it where it belongs man ,and you'll get along with all your rice hi-archey .ps the NSX is rice king ,and you didn't show your Subaru/rice respects ,assclown. (this is most likely what Honda/with fake leather (NSX) man was thinking).lol

The right lane passing ideal only becomes nec. when the lanes available are not being used legally or "correctly".

I pass on any damn lane I can find to get around people moving slower than me. I use a signal.

This isn't Germany, England, or any other country in which people usually know how to use lanes. This is America, where anybody can get a license.

However, while I was travelling a little faster than the posted speed, it was far less than what I've seen posted here. What I did was NOT a 125mph race against an NSX. hehe... I was not trying to engage the NSX: just wanted to show him how stupid it is to flash your lights at cars in front of you. I never would have thought he would slow down and move over to let me by. As for the "Smoked a yellow NSX on my way to work today" title: I was hoping to turn some eyebrows with that. And for the record, I still do not condone street racing.

Also: while I wasn't inches from the old man's bumper in front of me, he was well aware that I was attempting to travel at a greater rate of speed than him. I wasn't just 'cruising up to his pace," I was attempting to pass him. I never park it in the fast lane, and I do yield to faster cars behind me: Mr. NSX was just rubbing me the wrong way, plus he didn't even give me a chance to move over! (He flashed, paused 2 seconds, saw an opening in the right lane, and passed us both.)

And the whole Germany backlash has already begun: at my workplace (Mercedes Benz) the call center is getting plenty of calls from aggravated consumers. It is predicted that our sales will take a slight dip while the Iraqi conflict (and Germany's subsequent stance against our efforts) is underway.

And no, this "taste of victory" will not turn me into a street racer.

Bottom line: fortunately for me, he wasn't toting a gun: something I need to consider next time...

Regards,
-Zoltan.
