Who wants a piece of my 944?
Time to say goodbye to my 1987 944. I bought the salvage title back on it. The entire driver side to smashed in.
The car was red exterior, black interior. The seats are vinyl with the cloth inserts "Porsche" script. The driver side seat was manual with 4-way power adjustment, the passenger side is manual. The dash has two cracks in it, so I don't know if anyone would really want it. The rest of the interior is in good shape. I can provide pictures of anything.
Other than the driver side, the body panels are in good condition, no dents, etc.
The car had 7x15 "Phonedial" wheels. The tires need to be replaced--due to the accident and the fenders digging into the rubber. The finish on one wheel is good, the other three were stripped and primer waiting for a repaint.
Both engine and tranny are in good shape, about 134,xxx miles on them. Though right now, there is one person who may want the tranny.
Thanks for the time. I wanted to let everyone here know about the parts in case it may be helpful before I post ads otherplaces. If you want to see the car for parts, I am in the Los Angeles harbour area.
Thanks,
David

David,
I hot to be a vulture but... at least your parts will be going to good homes of people that love their car as much as you loved yours. <img src="graemlins/crying.gif" border="0" alt="[crying]" />
Anyway... I need the back hatch area cargo cover. Do you have this in your car? It is retractable with two hooks. Also the sunroof bag.
Thanks,

David,
Sorry to hear about your loss. Doesn't sound like you were hurt. I may be interested in A/C compressor, instrument cluster and possibly dashboard.
What kind of stereo do you have?
e-mail me at abelouso@yahoo.com for suggested prices or answer to this post.
Thanks.

Pity about the car. It's a shame to see such a great automobile hit the end of the road.
Do the late model sunvisor clips fit onto the old models? If so, I need 2 of them.
Email me: Kyle.r.luoma@bubbs.biola.edu
I'll be staying in La Mirada (south LA county) for the next several months starting saturday so I should be fairly close.

Sorry about the car, I understand this process i just went through it myself.
I am intersted in the seats as well, mine are torn up something firce and they need to be replaced. What color were yours, it sounds like black, but one never knows.
Also the clip the holds the sun roof in on the left side is broken on my car.
Let me know, and again sorry for the loss of the car, hopefully the recyled parts will help some of us out.

David, I am looking for the horizontally sliding arrow buttons that are on the A/C controls. I am presently in the LA area (Hermosa Beach) so I could stop by and check out the car. Condolences!

Sorry to hear about the car. Could you send pics and prices of complete shifter with **** and boot to MWN25@msn.com? Also do you have the original tool kit or the little plastic cap that covers the hooks where you hang coathangers on(I forget what they are called)? Both sides are the same I think.
Thanks in advance
Mark

David, I, too, am sorry about the car. I hope insurance treated you fairly so you can get something good to replace it.
I am interested in the front valence under the bumper if it's an NA in good shape. I don't know if it would be cost effective to ship it all this way though. Let me know what you think. Thanks.

Hey guys, the interior is black, everything, including the seats and carpeting. The dash is cracked in two places, jsut so you know. Now that I know what people want, I can remove it from the car and send you off pics to make sure you want it.
Logan5:
I do not have the sunroof bag, I've been tracking one down myself too! The cargo cover is black and works fine, retracks, etc. Only problem is that one of the hoosk is missing. So, not sure how you feel about that. Let me know I can take it out and send it off to you.
Saha:
The A/C did not work, so I would not feel good about selling anything A/C related. Are you interested in the whole cluster? The dash is black, it does have two cracks. If you are still interested, I'll take a couple pictures in the morning and can email them to you.
P944forScott:
The car is in San Pedro at my parent's house. The seats are vinyl with cloth inserts. Black. The passenger side is nice, the driver side has a small tear on the side bolster. I can take pics or we could meet up at the car?
Kyle:
Not sure about the visor clips. I look around, does anyone else know?
ian,
Yup, the seats are black, with the Porsche script cloth inserts. I can take pics of them int he morning and send them off.
Sean:
Do you mind if I wait a couple days to see if someone wants the whole unit, then if no one wants it, the buttoms are yours.
Robby:
The hatch carpet is black in okay condition. The previous owner damaged the pile in a couple places. I can send off pics so you can see and make a choice.
Thanks for the replies guys. I've been traveling like a madman for work, so I should be home for the next week to take time and get everything together for folks. Drop me an email that way I can send off pics of items you asked about and them we can figure out price, shipping, etc.
Again, thanks for the help. I just can't bear to see the car go to "waste". If you have any other questions, let me know.
Thanks,
David

I got hit pretty hard on the driver side door. Not sure how, but the impact actually cracked the valence on the driver side rather badly. So, I don't think it would be much use to you.
The insurance folks were an eye opener. Lots of trouble, not much else. But at the end of the day, I was able to find a nice new 87 944S, original owner and all docs and all major service done. So, the claim did let me get into another 944! Yeah!

I'll drop you an email shortly. I do have the tool kit, though it is incomplete. I am pretty sure I have both hooks, in black. Let me verify in the morning.

I've got a valence that has some serious curb rash on it. I can scan a pic and post it if you are interested, but it would require some fiberglass work to get in good shape.

David, I am also an L.A. guy wanting to express my condolences. I am interested in the driver's power seat switches and (long shot here) the rear seat belt holders. They are probably torn as are mine, but it doesn't hurt to ask. I am availabe to come down and pick them up whenever you're available, just let me know your price.
Thanks and again, very sorry to hear about your car. -Dan
