Well he's got a point

Seems like every post is whining about how Porsche isn't as reliable as a chevy or honda and how much he can't wait to get rid of his car, etc etc

Just sell your car to someone who will enjoy it and buy a camaro

My take on it is... Everyone should do with their car what they want to do with their car... if you want a Hyundai engine in it..go for it... just don't be so F***ING sensitive when someone disagrees with your choice... if you don't want to hear the opinions, don't post it..

The positive aspects of staying all "Porsche" in the transaxles far outweigh not driving one.

The positive aspects of LSx conversions outweigh the costs.


My completely finished 968 will be about 45,000 dollars. This is okay with me.


Whether running Porsche or LSx Porsche, everyone here is driving absolutely spectacular cars.

Anyone who offers support, or sells products that support these efforts is a member the family...

I have recently looked into doing this conversion the only down side i see is having the car off the road for the time needed to put the engine in. But it should be well worth the wait once its done.

People, people calm down and don't be such fanboys.

First off you are talking about a 20 year old car with dated technology so it isn't fair to assume no one at Porsche knows what they are doing. Case in point the LeMans. Porsche has been winning races with their cutting edge tech before Chevy was even conceived in the backseat at some soda stand.

Second, if you don't like swaps keep it zipped. You look assinine rabidly defending a $5,000 car that isn't even respected within Porsche circles. It makes you look lie a d-bag that wears Porsche gear everywhere and tries to pick up women by talking about his Porsche.

Don't get me wrong, I love the 944 but a respected status symbol among enthusiasts it is not. It's a timeless classic that is very affordable but the downsides are that it has many issues and is sloooooooow by today's standards.

In the end it's just a hunk of galvanized steel to do with as you see fit. If it makes you happy to mod and stuff different motors in it that's just as cool as those who just want to keep it pure and wax it all weekend.

You know these threads are funny... THIS is the exact reason i dont post a thread here about my project, only recently any details at all, which sucks cause i have done it quite differently than most, and there isnt nearly the traffic on this site that there is on the other swap sites. There are a few people that feel the need to throw there .02 in where it isnt needed, like was said before, if you dont like the swap or what the people doing the swap say then just dont read the thread. IT was very obvious by the title what was going to be discussed here.

Before I get piled on some more for being the "Hater" we do have a tub here that we are doing the LS swap in hopefully over the winter/spring...so I am not sure I can hate when I am doing the exact same thing?

SO re-read what I posted and perhaps it will bring greater clarification. I was focusing more on the OP comments in regards to disliking almost all major componenets of the car....nothing more nothing less.

I personally would not buy a car that I hate 90% of, and that SEEMED to be the track he was on. I guess I should have said, why not by an M3, or Supra, or V-TEC or...or...anything but saying Chevy as this very word appears to be a sore spot for some swappers. Why I do not know, as the Chevy engine is solid as they come.
