Question: Do I need to get new wheels just to use spacers? I'd like my rear wheels to be a bit further out from the stock spot, but would that require more expense than just these spacers? I have an early NA.

Good question,
1st if you use the spacer you will lose 6 mm and change on your wheel studs. If you are not racing and just daily driving, i would assume this would be Ok, but i am not a mechanic.
I also have 951 phone dials forsale if this would help your wheel width. I am a motivated seller.
thanks jpc

There is an accepted amount of "engaged threads/or turns" for a lugnut, IIRC its around 6-7. If its less I wouldnt drive it. You can always use bolt on spacers for larger amounts or slip on spacers that may or may not require longer studs....hope that helps a bit. I run spacers on everything

Thanks Sam,
I used a combination of spacers with studs and longer studs with spacers. So basically adding a .25 inch spacer will allow enough SAFE turns on your wheel nut.
Let me know, ready to ship whoever has interest.

Anyone got ideas on how far is good? I've got phonies and Fuchs, unsure if they're stock or what, but they appear that way. How many should I get? I was thinking 3 on each side, so 6.

you should have twice the width of the stud in thread engagement. Aka if its a 1/4-20 thread, you should have about a half inch of thread purchase.
Multiple spacers usually isnt a great idea. Instead of three .25 spacers, get a .75 spacer.
Are those spacers lug or hub centric?

The spacers will fit your Porsche, i used them on my 951.
What is a popular combo, i don't know. It's easy enough to purchase 4 and test what you want for the rear. If you need more, just email me. I'll would assume i'll have more.
It looks like i am down to 10 units, if payment is sent.
I have emailed and PM both parties of interest. If payment is sent by tonight, i should be able to ship the items either by WED or THUR. (USPS)

Maybe for a go-cart.
standard 996/997 H&R 12/14 mm spacers are the ONLY spacers that you should ever put on any of your cars.
Every other combination is dangerous.
Why ?
1. They are the the narrowest spacers that have a solid, properly-engineered overhangs to safely sit on your wheel hub and not add even more dangerous loads to the studs.
very significant loads are already being added -- even in this configuration [to the new studs]. Long studs are bad enough.
even if you run these, you should always inspect your bearings and lug nuts after any hard driving.
2. They are the only spacers installed on many 911s at the factory so customers can quickly change to wider wheels for track and recreational uses.
3. narrow spacers without overhangs are actually the most dangerous.
4. running spacers any wider are likely to damage your bearings pretty fast... even lead to a catastrophic event. bad. all over bad. 12-15 mm max...
5. in hard cornering anywhere, the additional loading that you are putting on is off the charts... you need to be running different offsets. your life is worth a lot more than saving a few bucks or endangering anyone elses.
6. spacers just basically, suck. Just see how ****ty your car feels after you go big.
7. did you guys know that this pompous, 968 driver is not a big fan of wheel spacers ?
