Matt Sheppard, how close to you is the car? That sounds like a killer deal. That almost sounds like a scam, but appears not to be. Shipping would suck with me living in Tennessee, but still that is cheap! Would probably be worth it to ship, if it was to be legit.

1.5 hr drive for me. Lots of Porsches in California compared to other states so I see this level deal every other month now days. It's a good pricing point for you. If you want to do a long-distance purchase, I suggest you call the owner and see if he will do a pre-purchase inspection at a local Porsche specialist and go from there. Really, there is nothing worse than buying a car you have never seen. If it were $3K, maybe it would be worth rolling the dice.

Anyone in the city close enough to drop by and check this out?

Yeah, I agree with buying sight unseen. I wish someone could check it out. I bought my last car this way and got extremely lucky. Anyway, I did talk to the owner. He seemed really busy and told me a few local parties were interested He then said he would let me know if it had sold or not to the locals first before he deals with me. This sucks!

This may be a better bet - mainly because it's one-owner and that it has updated hubs/spindles and wheel offset of the later cars:

Again, in SF proper.

That's a nice deal. It's amazing how many low priced 951'a are out here lately. Now I don't feel so bad about selling mine a few months ago for $5900.

Matt Sheppard, I've been talking with the guy with the original owner car. The other car sold fast. But, this guy still has the 87 as of right now. He sent me some interior pics. I'm having trouble uploading them.

Ok, is there anyone in California who could check out a car in Foster City? The car seems to be nice in the pictures. I have a feeling it will sell fast at the price he's asking. The guy says he has a few serious people looking into it so I don't know what will happen.
