Where is the 944 in this TV spot for the Panamera?

Yup. The early 944s were actually price competitive but over time, their prices just kept increasing (DM -vs- $ and other reasons caused the upward climb). owards the end, they were seriously expensive and it was one of the big reasons for their sales decline.

You like the commercial? And how do capture a still of the vid?
Here is some good reading: Chris Poole writes well of the history of the 944 (ie the 924) in his book, The Complete Book of Porsche, By the Auto Editors of Consumer Guide. Marks & Spencer, in The Ultimate History Of Porsche, do lesser. I am reading the 944 section anticipating his writng of the 951.
The commercial is of Panamera's and all of our other cars are secondary.
My first thought of the commercial was, " Now there is a video game that is cool (haven't said that before)". Today I'm thinking it' s Porsche's video game, and we( ie, you) are going to produce more of the same Bonnevile scenes.
Watch out for the four banger zooming by, I mean...

Don't know about you guys but I just watched "Welcome to the Family" which was a documentary on IFC mostly about Porsche in general, although the specific occasion that it focused on was the Panamera commercial shoot. Great documentary about the love of P-cars. Seinfeld was in it.
944 was definitely represented at the shooting of the commercial. A guards red very late S2 is clearly visible parked in front of a white 80s Speedster and behind a 917 Can-Am. I know it was a late S2 because you can see the 3rd brake light.

Great commerical, I wonder which one of those would spank a Panamera? Probably quite a few of them on the track I suppose.
I had a chance to ride in a Panamera turbo when they received one at the nearby dealership. I can't imagine a better cruiser, the power was brutal and instantaneous, I love that PDF transmission (I would however hate to pay for it when it breaks!)
Someone ought to shoe-horn one of those variable-vane turbo's into a 944...

But there are rebuild kits available from some independent shops.
Hey all of these cars have their weaknesses!

GISMOZOID: Congrats... we had identified a red "S"/951 from '87/'88 by looking closely at 3 different clips that are available on youtube a few days ago to see if a transaxle 4 had been represented... guess we nailed your car !

Good catch guys! I didn't see it in the ad, but saw the back end barely in the IFC documentary.
At least it got featured over some other older models on the website :-)

Ben -- look very closely at your car passing right in front of the orangish/red 911 at 0:49 of the video
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gWguaRNsmX0
you can see your car clearly at the bottom of the screen for a split second -

5. open File: click: "new"
6. open Edit: click: "paste"
7. crop and make your adjustments etc... and save.
you can save ALL images on your sreen including flash photos that are blocking the right click/save to disc option.
