Post Subwoofer box

<a href="http://boards.rennlist.com/upload/subboxsmall.jpg" target="_blank">http://boards.rennlist.com/upload/subboxsmall.jpg</a>

Here is a pic of the sub box I built last night,It has an 8 inch sub,box is approx 1 1 2cu ft.(Has room for 2 if wanted .I am driving it with An Alpine 320 5 ch amp with crossover. It is a clean relativly simple install.
Any one (like myself)who is unsure if one 8 inch sub is enough IMHO it is more than enough bass!I will fine tune it more over the weekend, and report.

I will be installing Clarion 4x6 plate speakers in the doors, depth of 1 1/2 inches.(these are the shallowest 4x6 I have found ,the tweeters do not protrude and can be aimed!I plan to mount them upside down for better sound stage imaging.I will take photos as I go.
If anyone wants specs on the box, dimensions, cost drivers etc deal me!I plan to cover it with carpet matching the interior.
Also I will attach nylon webing to rear seats, there is already a hook to mount to!Let me know what you think!

nice box... that gonna make a lot of wouuushhhh

hehehe

will you carpet it?

I'm modifying my rear inserts so I can fit my 6x9 pioneer 3 way speakers... ahhh clarity and then I just ordered my amp (480W) not that much but will do a excellent job for a 4 speaker system... LOL

I'll post some pics of the progress some time next week.

I have a single 10" sub in a box that sits on the back of the folded down rear seat back, it has a dedicated amp. The CD changer hides under the folded down seatback. The head unit is a cheap Kenwood. Front speakers are Alpines, as they too have a 4x6 that fits in the front without bulging the grills. I have some Polk 4x6's for the back but have yet to attack the sidepanels.

Which model Clarion 4x6's did you use? I'm having a tough time fitting new speakers in the doors of an 84. Polk Audio's don't fit without trimming the door metal. Clarion SRC4694's show to be 2" top mount depth which would be too tall, I think. Any pics? BTW, nice job on the sub box!

I'm thinking of taking the back seat out of mine in all and putting a sub box to fit flush with where the top of the back seat would be when folded down.

Thanks. I'll get the SRC4653's and see if I can make 'em fit.

What speaker will you be using in the rear quarters?

They should fit fine, glad you got them,I think they sound great!

My rear speakers are going to be either a pair of boston acoutic(that are poorly placed in the rear now)seperates,or I have a pair of MB quarts 4x6 ,that didnt fit in the front. They will fit in the rear.If I dont use them are you interested?Ill know in a week or two if
I can retrofit the bostons in back.

I may be interested in your MB quarts. First, I want to try some Polk Audios in the back along with the Clarions. If they don't impress I'll let you know ASAP and maybe we can make a deal.
