I run almost the same set up. 265/40/18 and 285/35/18. 18x9 and 18x10. I use one set of spacers all around. When I bought the car, PO was running 275's in front and 295's in rear. They looked sick! Too much wheel rub, and he was using two sets of spacers...yikes.

I noticed in you signature that you have BSA wheels...are these the ones you are talking about? If so, this is actually the wheels I am reffering to. I also see you have an 86. How was the fitment on early offset 86? What size spacers did you use, etc.

Thanks
Mike

Also, did you experience rubbing issues after you removed spacer?

I dont have BSA's But I have TSW's in 19" and they fit my 90 S2 Fine; I just posted a Wheel Fitment Thread about this so check it out it has the details of what is what sizes... Use the 968 Turbo Dimensions to fit your 944...

Sorry for the delay. We seem to have very similar sizes of rims. Do you have a pic? 18X9 and 18X10. I am using one set of 6.5mm spacers all around with no issues and no wheel rubbing. The previous owner was actually using two sets of 6.5mm spacers with the same rims, but wider tires. Without the spacers, the studs seem to be too long with these rims. I hope this helps. Let me know if you have anymore questions.

Are you sure your fronts are 18x9? not 18x8?

What is the correct way to measure rim width..bead edge to bead edge?

Thanks

Car is on stands in my garage with wheels off. I checked my width, it is 18x8, but my front tires are 9's. Yes, bead seat to bead seat to determine width.
