Exclamation Urgent help needed...I have my injectors out and the kit is different!

I bought the fuel injector kits from Pragon and they have the same O rings and yellow 'hat' as what was on my injectors, But the support ring is much thicker, grey instead of orange and a bit larger ID.
Which do I use, If I use the one supplied, this will push the Hat out further.
Also, when replacing the hat. Do I just push it on till it snaps in the groove, or all the way till its flush with the O rinG.
Thanks, I'm waiting till I find out what to do.

I just called Paragon, they have not had the question come up before...So do I use the new washers which would move the 'hat' further out and change the spray patern, or use the factory washers?
Thanks

When I did mine I bought the kits from my local friendly NAPA (at the time I was unaware of Paragon) and they fit just fine for a price of $3.00 each.

I think I must be a fool...I believe the grey washer is used with the extra o ring for the pressure regulator. I need to reuse the old washer.
Oh, Well

This question HAS come up before --and with paragon. When I replaced my head gasket 2 years ago I couldn't figure out why the injectors didn't fit right. The grey things(washers--whatever) were too big. After 4 or 5 phone calls no one had an answer and they even ordered a new set from another supplier and STILL couldn't figure out what the deal was. I ended up sanding the washers thinner and putting them in. I still have an idle problem to this date but have no time to chase it down.

I installed with the stock washers, I checked my spare fuel pressure regulator...sure enough, the gray spacer/ washer is the same.

You're definitely supposed to re-use the washers. I think my seal kits even included a note to this effect.

This question has been asked (and answered) many times. The standard "factory" kit has too many o-rings, the wrong washer and no filters! Markus Blaszak sells his own kits for around $7 that has all the right parts: 2 washers, one hat, and one filter. You must re-use the washers, but they are not a wear part anyway. So what filter am I talking about? If you turn a sheet metal screw into the top hole of the injector and pull, you will extract a fine mesh screen filter in each injector. Once you see one, you'll never want to reseal an injector without a new filter again!
