that looks really good. my only concern is that i wont be able to match the paint properly....my car was repainted the proper burgandy, but is a little off from the true porsche color, so it makes me a little nervous to do this..

Eddie, thanks for the info on the 968 discussion...looks like it would be $500 plus s/h for them to cut the 2 vents into my hood like the 968 Turbo S...at www.speed-6.com...has anyone done this here with a 944?

Would there be any problems while driving in the rain with wiring getting wet causing shorts or soaking the air filter?

Lindsey Racing does a vent in the headlight cover.

Come on you guys, you can do this. If you pick up a cheap used left cover from a 944 NA or a 924(I used a 924's), you really can't screw it up. Leave your original intact and make one from the one you picked up. If it doesn't come out right, put your old one back on.
It's alot cheaper than messing with your hood.
Sorry guys,I just don't have the time to do any right now.
Another place I considered cutting one in, was in the side of the left fender, above the side marker light, matching the curve of the wheel arch. Then run a short length of ducting from there through the original air filter snorkle hole into the cone filter area. Maybe over the winter.
