I believe www.gt-racing.com has one. I'm look on this picture, but I'm sure they could tell you exactly where to mount it. I would mount it like the 924 Carrera GT.

Hey instead of getting that Lindsey Nose (fiberglass if I remember), pull yours off and ship it to SFR. I'm surprised Tim didn't mention this to you. They will cut ducts in it for $150, and the website says "Usually doesn't require repaint." They also sell an IC duct that pipes the fresh air straight to the intercooler. The whole thing costs less than $300, whic is what the Lindsey unit costs before finishing and painting, and you'd still have no ducts installed.

Just a thought.
I am in no way affiliated with SFR.

Check out the SFR site for pictures of that nose panel (I'm not affiliated either). The narrative indicates there are several styles as well.

Hey Tim, what are the other "styles"? Do you do the 924 turbo style w/4 vents? Does it include the little grills? Pics would help. I'd like to do this as well.

Thanks for your earlier email reply re: upgrades.

I'd like one too, how ever I'd like mine to be smaller and more classy, if possible...would like one on the drivers side just a little way up and to the left of the drivers-side headlight...something to direct air into the K&N intake better

You can always make one yourself.
I did this one that seems to work nicely on my 83 NA. It requires some minor trimming of the plastic on the rear of the headlight assembly. It flows air directly to the area of my cone filter.

yoyu could also mount a 931 hood (and get the big NACA duct) like someone else on this forum It provides no practical purpose with the exception of providing a vent for the exhaust manifold, to decrease under-hood temps...

But it looks good, and was original Porsche equipment!

Hey that looks good! Do you think a body shop would be able to do this for me? How much is a reasonable price?

Thumbs up

Here's what I really would love on the 944, just on the drivers side though...what do you think? Could a body shop do this?

Go to 968.net in Discission mods section there is a guy doing this mod they are doing cf hoods or fg
hoods. I think they could also cut them in or sell
you the vents separately.

Making the headlight scoop is quite simple.
If you can, get a spare cover, that way you can always preserve your original.

First remove the cover.
draw the outer outline of the scoop you want
Be sure you place it just forward of the steel bracket inside the bucket.
Cut only the two curved sides and the rear edge. Don't cut the short front section.

Push the center piece down about 3/4"at the rear and bend the right and left edges of it up so they point in the general direction of the original surface.
Then use fiberglass to fill-in the sides and smooth out the structure.

Then use a sharp razor knife to cut the plastic on the rear of the bucket.

You will end up with a vent opening about 3/4" X 2-2.5"

My cone filter is positioned directly off the MAF and sits just to the inside of the headlight bucket. The cool air flows into the area behind the headlight, feeding the cone.

Here's a close-up before I completely finished it off.
