Iceshark, Did you ever work anything out with the Swedes, or are you going to make the front clear lenses for the turbo's.

At the moment, I'm waiting for the Swedes and Finns to figure out who is going to make these things. There was a foul up and the first "manufacturers" are apparently out of the picture due to poor quality.

If I had enough guys lined up, I would make them myself. But you need a vacuum chamber and such to make correctly, well, at least to my quality. That costs quite a few bucks if you can't use it for something else since you need to be able to pull about 27 inches in a box big enough for production and cleaning. I suspect this is what is screwing up the various Nordic production projects. I think they were doing it without vacuum, which is a disaster.

So, the short answer is no.

HHmmm...Iceshark are you thinking these could be made on a vacuforming machine? I thought lenses were injection molded? If this could be done a vac-form machine, I do have access at work. Care to provide details on how? Perhaps I might be able to do something...

Cheers,

Riff, I don't believe you could make on vacuform. I'm more than certain.

To avoid injection mold you would make a silicone mold and pour a cold cast. But you need almost total vacuum to get the air bubbles out of the mold as well as the cast material. That is the production problem.

I think the Nordic guys are avoiding this and getting $hitty casting in the surface as well as air bubbles in the plastic. That is only my guess as they aren't telling me what they are doing.

Hi!

We're having in a group order for turn signals etc.,but we haven't heard anything about them after the end of Jan. Then there was that talk about the quality.
I think I must send an interrogative e-mail...

Actually, I think the issue isn't about quality; the 944 N/A lenses I got from Patrick were fine, and I believe the 951/S2 lenses Olli got from .. can't remember right now who, anyway ... were even better.

IIRC they were having some problems with the company they used to produce the items though

Not trying to be an insulting jerk here, Joakim, but you haven't been too responsive to potential customers.

While we can re-create the wheel here in North America, we really don't want to.

I wish you would get your act together and talk to Olli. I'll let him sort things out and report on current quality. Olli, I trust. You, on the other hand, never respond to emails or apparently deliver on time. What can I say? Stand and deliver.

Yes, I noticed Joakim has resurrected every clear turn signal topic in past history but has not included any info on pricing.......
