Post Anyplace online I can buy "custom paint in a spray can"?

I want to do a little touchup, want my factory color, want it in a can, I can't find anyplace in town (MPLS-STP).

Anyplace that will mix up, can, and mail factory colored paint? Or is that a no-no to mail that stuff now?

tia

Thaddeus,

You might look for a paint store in your area that does color-matching. I took my gas cap lid/cover with me to a store that used a color analyzer to come up with a custom mixed touch-up paint. They used the formula for Guards Red as the starting point, and adjusted from there to match.

I got a decent size bottle with brush and one spray can for ~$20 bucks or so.

As for mail order, I would expect to pay some "hazardous materials" charges, but I think you can still buy spray paints through the mail.

I would go the custom tint route if you have a good shop in your area. If they won't load it in a spray can, you can still have them thin it for spraying, and use one of those disposable spray cans with paint jar attachments. I think they're about $10, and should be available at any paint shop.

Good luck,
Ron

I heard that places like NAPA etc... will make custom spray bombs as well.

Try this site: PaintScratch Touch-Up Paint . You can buy it direct from these guys in a variety of sizes. You might have to say that you have a 911 or 928 to get all of the colors offered in a particular model year. I had to say 911 to get Guards Red for 1990. They also sell primer and clearcoat touch-up products.

Try your local Sherwin-Williams COMMERCIAL dealer. They can usually mix the paint and put it in cans. Last time I got some, about 2 years ago, it was around $50 for 6 cans.

I used paintscratch.com, and received my touch-up paint quickly and correctly. It seems to match very well, and they have a cool color look up chart on their website.

No affiliation just a satisfied customer.

YMMV

That place looks to have my color, but gee it's spendy. I wonder if there's anyplace else?

I will call some local shops tomorrow...

Yeah, $30 for a can of Guards red is absurd.
