Default You wouldn't believe what my powerloss issue was!

I have a rather long key chain, with my other car alarms etc hanging from it. So anyway as I was merging I bumped my key with my knee and well... shut the car off :S

There you have it, I am truely nut!

Thanks to those for all your support in trying to solve my self inflicted problem!

What if the bunch of crap is a bunch of keys for different cars? Does that regain your manhood points?

LOL.

I completely hate keychains.
I put my office key in my laptop bag.
I put my house key on a small keychain and leave it in the car when I go somewhere.
My car key is on its own keychain with a little Porsche emblem and that is it.

Nope, I have each cars keys on separate rings, only thing that goes near the ignition is a key with a ring on it...

multitude of keys for different cars makes you look like a used car salesman... or a chick

A mechanic years ago told me not to keep too much stuff on the keychain, a lot of weight isn't good for the switch.

i was told the same thing, and listened. i told my wife the same thing and she ignores me. maybe if you tell her.... nah, fuggetaboutit, lets just wait till the car wont start and she gets a huge bill that i have to pay to replace the switch.

she got pissed at me when i was driving her car with the crap on the chain, and i took it all off because it was hitting my knee.

What happens is you wear out the lock cylinder, and the car will run without a key. At least that is my understanding (and I've seen cars that were like that!).

When I have a lot of keys on a keychain, I have one of those ball lock things where you can press a button, and separate it. Ignition key on one side, all other ones on the other. That's how I did the GTO, when I had an ignition key, door/trunk key, padlock for the hood (had an external release), packlock for the cover, and a "Club."

I'm in the same boat as you, though. My wife has a freakin' key ring bigger than the hoops that Debbie Gibson was wearing 20 years ago.......so she can "find the keychain in the purse." Drives me nuts, and I can't even fit the damn thing in my pocket. So, I've got another set of keys to her Audi. Luckily, the Mazda has a keyless system.

That might be the cheapest fix I've found on Rennlist yet... so +5 points for that.
