Default alright, its time for me to introduce myself and my car

casey from central iowa here. ive always been a fan of the 924/944/968 family, and in the process of looking for a hobby safer than my triumph daytona motorcycle i purchased an 87 924s. the last year and a half has been a love/hate relationship that i wouldn't trade for anything.

i appreciate the "help" i got from posts here before i was an active member, and the assistance i have gotten lately sourcing parts.

here are some of the modifications i have done to the car so far:
-sachs spring clutch (that was fun...)
-fidanza aluminum flywheel (hey, i was there...)
-paragon coilover setup (350# front/450#rear)
-2008 cayman 17s (four fronts)
-7mm spacers all round (7mm longer 911 studs)
-momo wheel
-momo ****/928 shop boot
-blau brisbane head unit
-floor mats
-944 manual rack (favorite mod)
-dansk catback

whats planned yet this year:
-foha front lip (looking for comments on this)
-944 rear wing (trading mine with a member here)
-968 sway bars
-wilwood front brakes (maybe..)

pictures (pre coilovers/dansk):

the car sits about 2in lower now, and the tach lives in the center hole of the dash.

really nice...really...

is the foha spoiler the foam lip type?
I had one on my 80 931, it was a nice subtle piece...should go well with your taste in mods...

You know. As long as you're doing the 944 rear wing, and getting the Foha front, why don't you look into a 951/S2 rear lower diffuser? I think they really fill out the rear-end and they are a bit of an upgrade for the car.

I'm diggin' the Cayman wheels. I might have to look into those for my car! I'm going to recycle Porsche wheels on my car instead of going aftermarket and so far I've always wanted twists, but am opening up to different options.

Wow nice looking car! the Shift boot looks beautiful, and your wheels provide a more modern accent to it while not looking out of place. Good job!

you didn't happen to buy your wheels from wheelenhancement.com? did you? I recognize the pic. how much were they?

im thinking about the rear diffuser, but dont know if it fits a 924 body.

i was wanting twists, but saw these and gave them a shot.

i wanted the wheels, steering wheel, shift ****, boot, and head unit to give the car a more modern look while still looking somewhat stock and "period correct" i hope to continue that theme with the 944 wing and foha front spoiler.

yes, i got them from wheel enhancement, i cant remember the actual cost, but it was comparable to a set of new replica twists. i wanted 17s and know i could have gotten a used set cheaper, but i wanted to try something unique. i dont regret the choice at all.

this winter the dials will probably be refinished and mounted with a nice race/dot tire for occasional autox/de use.

rear turbo valance will not fit- ive seen guys on 924.org modify them to fit but IMHO dont look natural. Euro bumper are what you need....love the wheels.

I would skip the wilwoods. The 924 is so light, the stock brakes are fine, and it's an expensive mod just for looks. Just give your stock calipers a good paint job, black or red.

The caymans look good....almost too big for the car though! I look forward to more cayman wheels showing up on the used market.

i like the euro bumpers but not the cost, lack of protection, and i dont want to mess with driving lights. i think im gonna shave the front and rear and sink the front one in a ways.

stock brakes are painted anthracite. stock NA calipers are too ugly to stand out
