Post OT: Wedding anaversaries

My Grandparents just hit the big "five one" today. 51 years... It's almost like trying to comprehend all of time and space. Have a good year to all of you and yours.

Happy anniversary to all the happily-wed couples out there! And for those who aren't, well get a move on! Life's short, make the most of it!

As for me... I'm celebrating my -18th anniversary this year...

Anniversary isn't until December 1st, but 2003 will be our 29th year! I'm sure someone can top that (but maybe not at the ripe old age of 46)! Happy Anniversary!

I think danno's was -18, or negative 18.. you can imagine.

I myself am knocking on 8 yrs, aiming for 51 if I live that long.

FWIW, My favorite piece of advice about marriage was.. "It's not about FINDING the right person, it is about BEING the right person"

I've talked to my Grandpa in hopes of gleaning of some sage advice on understanding women. He tells me to fill him in If I ever figure them out... The other thing he says is that it requires allot of prayer. I think the line about "being" the right person is a good summation of what he's had to say. He says that notion that a good relationship being 50/50 is a farse. It's usually 110/-10 to each persons perspective, and sometimes it's worse in reality. Now don't get me wrong, I love my Grandma, but I don't know how old Grandpops does it. My Grandma is not the stero typical Granny, she can be quite... overbearing, yeah thats the word. I think I would have given women the boot after a week for things she has gotten away with for longer than I've been alive, It's patience I guess. Hopefully with that magnitude of patience enough trickled down through the genetic coding for me to have some. Hopefully I get the hair from him too, cause gramps has a full head of it still.

I'm going to celebrate my first this year...

My grandparents have been married for around 47 years. I just recently found out that they celebrate a fake anniversary. Yes, my life is surrounded by little white lies. Apparently my grandmother was engaged to this other fellow and then she met my grandfather. They fell in love and she left the man that she was supposed to marry. That is what i was told. What I wasn't told is that the reason she left the other guy is because she was pregnant with my aunt. You live your whole life thinking that your grandparents were angels and now this. I still love them though. They have to be the happiest couple that i know, besides myself and my wife of course! Its a crazy world.

Thumbs up

My wife and I just celebrated our 10th anniversary this month. Why she married me and stayed with me this long I'll never understand, I guess she's a sucker for hard luck cases!

One thing I did learn about women and Porsches is that there only a few mean who appreciate a watercooled front engine turbocharged Porsche and far fewer women that will allow their husband to own one.

I guess I'll keep her.
