Post Real world reason (1 among many) not to be like Amaf

Thought this was timely given recent amaf threads. Below is from the local houston news showing a real-life reason not to act like our buddy amaf.....hope he reads this. Although, maybe not, since I am a big fan of Darwin theory. All his stories are probably completely fabricated anyway.

Gestures led to road rage shootout

By S.K. BARDWELL
Copyright 2002 Houston Chronicle

Exchanges of hand gestures escalated into gunshots in a southeast Houston freeway road rage incident that left one driver wounded.

John Hart of Friendswood was in good condition at Memorial Hermann Hospital on Wednesday, recovering from a wound suffered in the Tuesday night shootout.

Hart, 41, was driving his wife, Cathy, and their three children from the Galleria area to their Friendswood home when the incident began about 9 p.m., police said.

Cathy Hart told police their Ford Excursion was exiting U.S. 59 to Interstate 45 when a Ford F-150 pickup, unable to pass them because of heavy traffic, began tailgating them.

John Hart and occupants of the pickup exchanged words and hand gestures, then a shot was fired from the pickup into Hart's vehicle, police said. That shot did not hit anyone.

The pickup then exited the freeway at Telephone Road and Hart followed, police said.

Hart fired at the pickup and someone in the truck fired a second shot that struck Hart in the side.

Police are searching for a white Ford F-150 pickup with an extended cab and tan side stripes. They ask anyone who saw the incident to call homicide investigators at 713-308-3600, or Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.

I saw a pic of the the excursion.....there was a 1" hole blown thru the side of the truck where the bullet exited the excursion. this after presumable going thru the door, thru the guy, and then out thru the truck. scary

In a similar situation, a few yrs ago here in houston I honked my horn and flipped the bird at a pimped-out honda accord who cut me off on the freeway. I was in my Suburban, so he was going to lose the battle if he cut me off too much. Anyway, after the gesture, I see the two young kids in the car look back at me, and reach down and put on matching blue "do-rags", slow down the honda, and try to pull up next to me on the drivers side. I didn't see a gun or anything, but I don't think they were slowing down to ask for directions. I happened to be next to an offramp, and bailed out hard to the right. They tried but couldn't get off in time. Needless to say, I don't give people (especially of those guys demographic group)the "you're #1 sign" quite so often now here in houston.

An excellent reason to have guns in every car! (if you're a Darwin fan)

That guy is a real rocket surgeon.Taking a shot at somebody...with your wife and kids no less??? We get that on occasion here, somebody gets dissed and pi$$ed and a guy in a minivan gets shot. This just ain't the same world I grew up in.

Old Fart at 41 I guess.

Does AMAF have a white Ford?

An armed society is a polite society.

That's absurd...to endanger your family like that. Could you imagine what he would have done if he was alone!!! As far as I am concerned, they all should go to jail, the kids should be sterilized so they can't produce any more offspring with their father's genes, and the wife should go to jail, too, for allowing her husband to have the level of disrespect for her and their kids that he did not even think twice before he pulled that stunt! <img src="graemlins/soapbox.gif" border="0" alt="[soapbox]" />

the shotgun in the 944 wasn't intended for deer, sometimes it just works out that way.

If you all look at the fact this came from texas it is slightly less surprising. They do have the highest armed population in the country after all. You would think that texans would begin to be wary of the fact that most other people in their state could very well be armed and use a bit more caution when firing on people.

granted, thats horrible he was fired upon, but to fire a shot when you have YOUR family on board????? thats utter stupidity. I can only feel for the poor wife/child.

and he WAS driving an excursion for crying out loud. he does deserve to be smacked, but not shot at...

IF it wasn't AMAF, it was certainly close kin. Most people in TX are actually pretty nice, and frendly too (you don't know who's packin' heat!). I've only been raged once or twice in the decade I've been here. Maybe it was one ove those 100 feg. days with 80 percent humidity that Houston is famous for -- their brains had melted!
