The 3.0l (was a Nissan designed engine, not same as the Ford 3.0l) ((also not the same as the dohc 3.0l from the Maximas/300z))was used in several Nissan vehicles....including their Pick-ups and 300zx ......the main thing tho may be the offset position of the mount points....just because they used the engine in another vehicle does not always mean the alts have the same mount points.....ie: tansversely mounted engine as opposed to an inline mounted engine. Also with the proclivity for manufacturers to rename their offerings in different markets....look for the 3.0l engine would be what I'd look for the most.....take a pic and compare to what is seen online/here. Good luck!!

Maxima alternator has the mounts opposite the positioning of the Quest alternator! might be the same basic motor, but the mounts and such changed!

The 3.0 Liter Nissan Quest/Mercury villager engines were the same as the 90-95 Nissan Pathfinder engines. If you go with this engine, be sure of two things. 1. that all the valve springs are equal in pressure, and 2. that the driver side oil hole for that front cam bearing is clear. It is the last thing to get oil flow. If it is blocked it will seize the cam and ruin the belt and bearing along with it. Don't ask me how I know...BTDT. Use about 5-30 oil (preferred) or 10-30..no heavier! They are known for flaky valve spring pressures resulting in weird idling....BTW, good luck on changing the #6 spark plug!!

If you want a really lightweight alternator, go with the one from a Honda FIT...They are about 3-1/2 (maybe 4) inches in diameter and are quite small...and about the same price as the Nissan alternator. Should also be an amperage increase as well...might not even have to modify the mount if you go that way..as well as the weight savings. It's a Nippondenso too. If that matters. Good thread about the Nissan alternator..
BTW..Since you didn't like the AZ alternator, take it back and get your money back..that's will be covered under the lifetime warranty....then you can purchase what you want..
