Default Just found out I have LSD! Plus photos of the new engine!

No not the drug. Was pulling the transmission out to replace gas tank/ quite a few other things and discovered its a "7Q" non-turbo transmission with the short fifth gear, and 40% limited slip. Woo hoo! Guess Ive never driven it hard enough to tell!

Here's some pics of the new engine Im building up to go with that LSD. Its a 2.5 S motor. Lightened flywheel, no ancillaries, slightly increased compression. Should be fun!

Flywheel is the stock steel one lightened to about 10lbs with a lightened Sachs pressure plate. CR was achieved by shaving the head, cc'd it and it should be about 11.3:1. It will also be running without the cat, ps pump, A/C, and is underdriven on the altenator.

How much did you shave the head? ...there be little clearance fer them valves and pistons already...

Did you use a turbo headgasket too?

Haha yeah on an early nineties Eddy Mercx steel frame. Its got all the fancy fabrication options. Pretty cool old bike! I might have time to ride it if I could clean the garage and finish this car project!

No chip - would love to have the 944SMax chip - but dont have the money to justify it. The car is 2690 with the driver, and has the low 924S gears- so it should be pretty quick!

Kudos on the Merckx frame and the Shamal sighting - totally missed it the first time through, but can just make out 1/2 of Eddy's mug on the head tube. Lol!

. . . and the engine is sexy too.
