Default I need 944 automatic tranny flex disc

Does anyone have a random Auto Flex Disc kicking around they don't need? I just pulled my engine out and low and behold that lovely little disc crumbled before watery eyes!

Anyone know where I can get one cheap? I don't have 1200 bucks to drop on a new one.

Thanks

EBay?

This is a tough decision for the amount of work required.
Vertex new is $1029

There's a New-in-Box FS in the classifieds of Panoram magazine. He's asking only $600. If you don't have a copy, I'll dig out the info this evening.

I have a used one, I'll take some pictures of it in a second. It always worked well. Don't need it anymore cuz I converted to manual transmission.
I also have a good shifter cable for an automatic if you want to replace that while you're in there.

EDIT: Pictures...
Let me know what you think. If you want it, I won't ask much for it. I'm posting the pictures instead of PM, because I don't know what kind of shape this is for a flex plate. I don't know how long it will last.

Calmchaos, thanks for the pics. It looks a little rough. But if you pull or push on it does it look like it's going to fall apart?

Do they make an aftermarket plate? Does anyone know what's it's actually made of? is it just rubber? What's it main function. I know it's the contact point between the engine and the drive shaft. Does it need to be rubber? Can I make one out of a composite?

Man I hate cars!

Thanks all. (Found the one on ebay, I put a bid just to see if I'd get it. If it sucks I'll compare it to yours calmchaos and if yours is better we'll talk business.)

I have hard some people just use a clutch, but you would need to get some other parts.

Mark, What other parts would I need? I have an entire clutch assembly. Would I use the manual flywheel and clutch disc?
Thanks

It would be better to just convert it to stick.

You would have to search on here, I think it was legoland that did it.

Post Auto Transmission Damper

The basic reasoning is that you are taking out what some call an automatic clutch (damper & flywheel) and in that same space putting in a manual transmission's flywheel, pressure plate, clutch disc, and starter ring. Essentially replacing rubber with metal. Sending you a PM.
