Default Spark Plug Wire Set...Redux...

So, I yanked the cable out on the distributor side of one of my Magnecor wires and it's time to replace the set. Anyone had any luck with these:

http://www.paragon-products.com/product_p/kb_09-566.htm

I've read various things about the Beru ends. I have just an end laying around for some reason and it's a pain in the *** to get on. The suction it creates almost forces the thing back up out of the spark plug hole and even with the intake off and all the leverage I can use I still can't get the thing to 'click' on properly.

My Magnecor's are the KV85's which appear to 8.5mm's. I measured one of my plugs and it's right at 8'ish mm's. The one's from Paragon appear to 7mm.

I guess I should just stick with the Magnecor's - the ends go on well and I haven't had any issues with them until just now.

I hadn't seen a spark plug wire thread recently - was curious what other folks who had to replace recently went with.

+1 for the Magnacore 8.5 s . When new , I still had to 'burp' the air between the cap and the plug to get them on the spark plug correctly . After a few heat cycles , they go on without much fuss

I have had no issues with the ones from Paragon and they are 8mm.

i had that exact set.... they are the best i have found.
the magnecor have problems with the boots ripping or seperating, and LR's 1400 thermal wires or whatever the ends are really flimsy and you have to remove them carefully or you will break the metal L shaped piece inside the ends.

Plus the ones from paragon appear to say Porsche on each wire... That's always a bonus in my book...

i found a place online that had the KV85's and ordered a set. I may order the ones from Paragon and try them as well and keep whichever set I like least as a backup.

I had the Magnecor KV85s on my car for a while too. I didn't like how they fit and the boots ended up tearing. I went back to the stock Beru plug wires. They work, they fit, and they last. I don't see a good reason to use anything else.

Who was making plug wires with Magnecor wire and Beru ends? I would change them if I could find a set made with Magnecor KV85 wire and Beru ends.

Are the wires sleeved? KV85 wire only comes in red, so if the wires are a different color, then it's probably either Electrosport 70 (7mm) or 80 (8mm). Electrosport is built more like a conventional plug wire where the KV85 has a solid silicone jacket all the way down to the core.

Napa sells spark plug ends too.

I like the magnacore wires themselves but I don't like the way the ends fit the plugs, so I bought a good (expensive) pair of sparkplug wire crimpers, and some new ends. Haven't had a problem since.
