Default S2 1/4 Times

Has anybody here taken his S2 to the straight track

I went tonight and i'm curious what times these cars have gone

I tried everything tonight, Starting in 2000rpm 4000rpm 6000rpm with 16 psi in my 15'' slicks

Flatshifted and everything

Damn thing didn't go faster then 95 mph but that's allright for a 211 hp

i ran 14.216 with 60 feet 2.018

i want to hear numbers from other people here

That is a good time - and about the best '60 time I've heard out of an 944...

Magazine test in Australia (can't remember if it was Modern Motor or Wheels) got 14.2 for the 1/4 mile. Most other road tests were in the high 14's. You done good!

i will just have to continue with my 2.8 turbo motor putting it together for next summer hehe

In my vert I went 15.0@93mph on a craptastic track when I was having a few issues.. (Crank ref/vac leak).

Took it back went 12.0 or 12.1 @ 121 and I did 11.9@119 on drag radials.

Back in the day, US spec cars were down on power compared to ROW spec cars (hence the ROW 924 Turbo making 170 bhp -vs- 143 bhp for the US spec Turbo).

Now as regards that 'Turbo S'... it was one with a $2,045 (in 1980) handling/braking/appearance package. The engine was the same as the stock 924 Turbo.

Karl.
