Dan - welcome to the ranks. When I did my first DE event, I was so impressed that instructors were wiling to help me learn how to drive my Porsche. On the way home, I said to myself that someday, I would return the favor. I've been returning that favor for 4 seasons now. These days, instructing is just as much fun as driving out there! It is neat to see a student improve, and know that you were part of that process!

sounds like the checkride for the private pilot license..."I am just a passenger who knows NOTHING" (and happens to do dumb ****)

Congratulations! Well done.

Not in a real bad way, for we had a lot of fun, but I really appreciate all of the volunteer rag dolls now. I can NOT ride for 30 with someone, and then get out and get in my car. My eggs get scrambled waaay too easy now.
I know exactly what you mean. When I started instructing, I didn't have any problems with motion sickness or nausea, but it's pretty bad now. Part of the problem, for me, is that the cars are so much faster now. Anyhow, a friend has the same problem and she let me use an electronic motion-sickness wristband and I didn't have any problems (I also took ginger pills for a couple weeks before the event and changed my diet a bit, so I can't say the wristband was the only factor).

If you'd still like to instruct, or you ride along from time to time, or you can't fly, etc., here's the wristband:

No affiliation. It worked for me and it might help someone else.

Dan;
Glad to see you there for Friday. Ray in the Elise did my final check ride - he was real cool about it.
And that is some car - a 1200 lb Lotus on R-888s!
Congrats.
