Default Has anyone ever seen this type early 944 Speedo???

Just like the title states, has anyone ever seen this type of speedo in a early 944? This is out of a 1983 944 I am trying to find out more about right now. I dont even know what other car would have this type of speedo its a VDO with the same color and size. I almost think this is a early car with maybe a early version of the speedo. I know the 944 program was started in 1981 so maybe this is one of the first few made for this country, the 1980 Porsches all had a 80MPH speedo because of the USA's DOT laws for that year!
This one is even more intersting because of the fact that it has 6 digit odometer which means you can actually keep track of the real miles!

Any help or input!!!

I've seen many of those on the early 924s (never the 944 powered one). But the only weird thing is the 55 looks different. I've never seen one with strips like that.

looks like the speedo from a 79 924 i checked out.

the 55 looks weird because that was the national speed limit until like 93 or something. on my van theres a red mark where 55 should be for the same reason but it was a 93 model. its speedo goes to 90 but i discovered the other day for the first time (bought new in 1993!) that it goes over that lol

i bought one of those off ebay once for our 924s- had no miles on it- i believe it was a factory updated replacement for the ones that broke- since alot of them did.

That makes sense factory replacement, although if 99% of the other 944's had the 160 MPH speedo with the 5 digit Odometer I would think that the factory would send the same one that they were installing on the line. I will check the car-fax on the car and see if this is the real miles! Still searching for another one of these yellow 85 MPH speedo's with 6 digit odometers for early 944

1980 911 had electric pick up off of the transmission. The above mentioned should be for a speedo cable. Is there a part number on it anywhere? Often a sticker that easily comes off over time.
