Strange Brew
I will see if I can find some stubbies to bring across the border...
Please note that crew chief implies managerial and organizational and not wrenching skills, but will do what I can to make the race a success.

Oh I forgot to mention, you're not only the crew chief, but the lead mechanic, assistant mechanic, go-fer, and chef. You already paid, so there's no backing out now!!!

Thought of something else. This weekend, lets measure the exhaust diamater and I'll get some spare pipe and pipe clamps in case we snap the pipe running from the header back. Personal experience is telling me to have pipe pieces on hand.
Also, do we all need to go to a spensor gifts and get wacky t shirts or costumes for tech and to wear whiles in the pits?

not to worry Van i was joking about the suit- i have a 3a/5 and i think Sam/Alan are getting one as well.
I was thinking someone needs to voluteer to be a dragon slayer/ mechanic weilding a large torque wrench or something. Where do you get mesh metal shirts?
Ok so Alan and i worked about four hours tonite and made some more progress on the Dragon. Got the front end painted, Mounted everything up- spray painted the front bumper mounted the mirrors, and Alan patched rips in our seats w/ his iron on fabric majic skillz.

Nice car. I'm thinking about going up for the day. Couldn't get team together this year. Everyone was in until the Money needed to be put in. I'm 1hr from track if you guys need anything.

Tom I was going to order the rollbar padding but if you want to pick it up that would be great. I can give you some cash this Saturday. Was going to get 3 sections of the nice Kirkey SFI stuff and 3 of the cheapy foam looking padding.
Anyone have a camelback or similar? I was thinking that I cant sit at my desk for longer than about 30min without drinking water - no way can I drive a car for hours without hydration. Mount a water bottle holder to the tunnel? Anyone else see what other teams do?
Got my suit today, scared my dog by getting in the full getup and walking around the house. Fun.
Front nose looks awesome! Nice job guys.

yeah Tom if you get the rollbar padding get black- a couple sections of the sfi stuff and a few of the cheaper ones.
Camelpack should work good we could mount it to the back of the seat or something. i doubt we'll be driving for hours though more like 1 hour max for most of you guys. Myself and Van my do some stints longer though ehh! I figure we'll start out at 45min to 30 min on the track and then work our way up.

Guys,
I'll get the roll bar padding and will bring it saturday morning.
Will have all the car fluids with me too. BTW, where can i get super blue brake fluid?
For the event, I plan to bring my full size grill or I have a small 1x2 grill. either way i have room. I also have a fridge and microwave in my enclosed trailer.
If no camlepack is available, we could take a piece of pvc pipe, like 4" diamater and use it to make a deep cup holder on the pass side of the tunnel. that way you could drop a 2 litre water bottle in it, with a long hose.(hillbilly camel pack) Make the pvc deep enough with a velcro strap on top so bottle don't fly out.
If the temp is not too hot, i would think most should be able to do 30-45 easily but in the heat it's a different story. Hydration is a definate must. Being october, I imagine 60's so it should be ideal.

Guys,
How about if I install a stripper poll, lights, and sound system in my trailer and we can 'lure' the judges in for bribes with the use of some hot babe's !! That said, where can I get a chrome or brass poll and the "hot Babe's". haha Maybe we could round a few up from a local bar. There is a little joint about 5 miles down from Nelson's. Been there a few times.. hehe
