Thumbs up Porsche Firewall Cable Ties Came In From Germany!!!

Everyone that has sent in money will get their Battery Cable Package sent out in the next two days.

I know there are many others that wanted the package so post here to confirm and send in checks. I need to buy another 250 foot spool of #1 cable to make more as I only have 3 feet left. And find out where the rest of my fuses are. But there are no other component supply problems.

Hooray! It only took 2 1/2 months to get these cable ties.

Thanks for asking about the foot, David. I can get around without crutches now but can't drive a clutch, though. Tried it and couldn't get to sleep due to lingering pain, that is until I went and got liquored up a bit. This is sort of a PITA as all the vehicles I own are sticks so I am borrowing automatics.

Anyway, your package is all ready to go out tomorrow.

Keith, look at your mail.

Ice,

Check is finally in the mail, Took me awhile to get the check book balanced and some other financials in order. Thanks for all the hard work and patience you have suffered through for all of us.

I just need the Porsche Factory Cable Ties (Black with the screw thread mount) that go along the back of the firewall. Do you still have them available, and how much?

Yeah, I could use about 20 of those cable ties too. A bunch of mine are broken. I bet Stoddard has them, but if I can get them through a Rennlister, so much the better.

Let us know.

Ok, everyone that has mailed in money has their full packages in FedEx Ground's hands - all have been shipped. I had so many packages that went out and worked so late last night/this morning I'm not going to e-mail each of you with a track number as I normally do unless you want it. Just send me an e-mail to request a track number and if I'm still sober enough to type in the correct numbers, I'll send it to you.

I'm sitting down with some good beer Michael S. bought me.

Vaino, I am not going to go into all the details on how I eventually acquired these firewall cable ties and the assurances I had to make. The short and sour answer is NO, none are for sale. The firewall cable ties will be a component of the Battery Cable Package and that is it. Sorry. Good news is I have enough of them to last for awhile. Order the battery cables and you will get some!

Keith, see Perry951's thread. He is going to take some pics tonight and post them.

Michael, do a Rennlist search. Plug in my User Number 635 and key words: Battery Cable(s) and pull up the threads that lead up to this project. It started about the first of November when I first got the idea to make it. Man, it took a long time to get everything sorted and out the door, but it is now a smoothly oiled, lean, mean fightin machine.

Oh well, you can't blame me for trying. Anybody know the Porsche Part Number for the Firewall Cable ties? I can't find it in PET.

It isn't on PET as far as I know. Local Porsche dealer said the same thing.

When Porsche parts guys finally find them, they are $3.55 EACH, I'd go another route if I were you, Vaino. When I run out of these samples I'll probably go with a standard tie with a screw hole in the end. Then a nylon nut to hold it down. They will deform over that crazy 5mm course thread on the firewall.

It is that or buy a minimum 3000 ties at 30 cents a copy. A normal tie is closer to a penny each for referance.

Another dumb Porsche design move. Or maybe not so dumb if you can get away with it.
