Hey maybe we can get a group buy discount.
I know I'm planning on getting one but I can't decide between new or used. Maybe 20-30 bucks off would make up my mind for me.

This is what we got last time we tried a group buy:
Dear Sir:
Thanks for your email. We appreciate your compliments concerning the V1. We
do not have any volume discounts or group buy
special pricing. You might be interested in our returned V1's, which we get
back within the 30-day trial period. They are fully
warranted and go out with all new accessories. The price is $359 plus
shipping.
You can call 800-331-3030 for more information on them.
Cordially,
Pete Kaufman

Marc,
Hmm, thanks for the heads up on that. Keeps me from wasting my time on writing a big formal "come on give em to us for cheaper" letter.
Their proposed option doesn't sound too bad but I just know I'd get the one some monkey dropped and shipped back. It would still work. but only half as good. Thus leaving me with a $360 false sense of security.

I had asked my dad (a former B-52 electronic warfare officer) about jammers, and he said that they won't likely work. I forget the exact reason, but I think it had something to do with jammers having to specifically and actively target the radar in order to jam it. In other words, you can't have a "zone of no radar" around you...
Anywho, I could be wrong with the reasoning, plus jamming SA-2s isn't really the same as jamming police radar, so...
BB.

I suppose you could mount a few HARM missiles to the roof.
Now THAT will keep the smokies away!
Little expensive though...

Jammers are perfectly legal...in some states.
They're illegal near an airport anywhere in the US.
Jammers for police radar aren't the same as jammers for military aircraft, that sort of jamming would be difficult (although you can get radar absorbant bras and paint).
When an anti-cop jammer gets a radar signal, it produces a return signal that is doppler shifted from the original in such a way that it makes the radar gun register 250mph. Then a millisecond later, it produces a signal that translates to 40mph, etc. The true radar signal from the gun is drowned out by these sporadic false readings, so the gun registers no speed. Once you get close to the cop, the true signal is so powerful that it drowns out your false signals, and the gun shows an accurate number.
If using something like that, I'd suggest mounting the transmitters in your bumpers, because an active radar emitter is not exactly healthy. Remember all the cop cancer cases from early radar guns?
