I'm using a Wingman joystick, definitely better than a gamepad.
We should have said not to use the automatic trans, it does slow you down.
Waybrig, a 2:43.87 beats my time of 2:46.34. The car you set your time with should be slower than a 996TT. I noticed your in Ohio, are you going to the 944Fest? How soon is the 993 cab coming?
Operator, how do you save the screenshots?

setup IS really important. let me find some screenshot of my setups, which are almost universal for all tracks, except for downforce. (Increases as track gets twistier)
Safe to say though, tire pressure has to be 45/45.
Lower the car all the way, with medium travel, and very hard springs. Toe in is negligable at any setting. (Remember to look carfully at which side of the scale is the front, and which is the back!!!!)

to screenshot: press the PrintScrn button (Copies screen to clipboard) in game, and then exit the game, load up PaintShopPro, and press ctrl-v. (Paste)

Pete,
Who knows how the Carrera 4 was setup when I did that time. I'm not even sure if this was a 993 or 996. Let's see what happens when I run a 996TT bone stock, that will be a good comparison.
Regarding 944fest, haven't looked into it at all, where is it being held?
My Cab is estimated to arrive next Thursday, the 20'th. It's in North Carolina right now waiting for a truck to pick it up. Needless to say, I can't wait.
Rich: I agree, modifying the setup really increases the fun factor on these cars. For this run however, try using a bone stock setup and give us your time. Time for you to show us how it's done!

Here's a screenshot of my latest attempt.
2:44.65
This is tough with a bone stock car.

hmm why doesnt your screenshot show your car as "00 911 Turbo (996)" like mine?
-EDIT- nevermind, i see, when you go to single race it only shows 911 Turbo, when you go to multiplayer/direct ip/create (which is what i was doing to get all stock cars) it shows the full name
question is this then, how did you get the 00 911TT in single player? I only see about 10-15 stock cars there, the rest are owned ones, what gives?

Ok, here's my best effort: 996TT stock on Cote D'Azur: 2:50.62 I saw Pete at the start gate but that was about it. Where in the hell am I losing 6 seconds? Grrrr......... Pete, save a replay if you can and find it in the SaveData directory with an .rpl extension. I'd love to see where I'm losing all that time. Also, if anybody is interested I can bring up a server and see if we can have a little online demonstration of our prowess. I'll bring the server up now 11:30 eastern and leave it up for 30 minutes, see if you can connect. IP address:24.166.107.234

sumbitch. best I could do.

996TT bone stock. Had to go Multiplayer, and choose LAN game, and play by myself, because STOCK 996TT are not available in single player mode.
