Default agghh, can my fender be fixed?

Okay my mom freakin backed up into my passenger side fender with her toyota putting a dent in my fender. I have no idea how she did this as my car is parked far from her car in the front driveway and she backed up into it coming out the garage? she didn't even tell me until I saw the dent and her paint marks and the scraches and paint chips on my car. I was sort of pissed and she said she will pay for the repair.

the dent is on the lower part sof the front fender close to the plastic spoiler. the paint has been rubbed off to metal in some sports. the dent is not that deep and it is on thin metal however the fender (lower part close to the spoiler) looks like it has bent inwards and is sticking out from teh spoiler.

the spoiler got messed up but i'm not going to have her pay for that because it already had cracks in it and I was going to replace it anyways later on, the light on it is also loose now.

anyways i'm going to a few body shops tomorrow to get a quote and i'm wondering what to expect. I don't want to get ripped off because it's a 'porsche'. i'm sure the fender doesn't have to replaced but I want it to be fixed properly. I've seen so many ****ty body repairs where you can still see the dent and bent metal after the repair.

the rear fender of my car is also dented but much worse and I got a quote of 1700 to fix that.

would the entire front fender have to be repainted or can the just fix that one spot?

1700? i can paint a whole car for that much.

u should be looking at less than 400 for any singular dent repair for accidents. standard charge for paint matching and labor.

too dark out now i'll post a pic tomorrow. in a pic the damage won't look too bad.

it's a pretty small dent on thin metal on the lower part of the front fender with paint scratched off to metal in spots.

the rear fender is dented pretty deep and it's thick metal. they said it has to be pounded out and reshaped and the entire rear fender repainted so 1700 was my quote.

anyways I'm just getting the front fender fixed as my mom is paying for it because she backed into it causing the damage. The rear fender I backed up into a car at a gas station 2 years ago on a snow, day, my rear window was covered in snow and I couldn't see. It was a real light hit but it caused pretty bad damage to my rear fender.

Seek out a mobile paintless dent removal guy. A new car dealerships use them all the time. They do amazing dent repair with their tapping techniques.

+1 on what Steve said...although you'll need to paint the spots where the metal is bare, the closer the metal is to the original shape, the easier the paintwork will be. I'd shop around for the repair on the rear fender if the PDR guy can't do it. Sounds like you were getting a "Porsche tax" added in to the repair estimate.

Sounds like alot less damage that I have repaired on my race car fenders. Some hammering and some paint and done. Of course race car paint need not be perfect.

i dont think the OP is too concerned about perfect paint. He is a student you know, and he works a lot, so i think he will settle for less than perfection. ya

lol. howd you know?

anyways got a couple quotes today cheapest was $440 for the front fender and 700 for the rear quarter panel.

other guys gave me a quote of about 650 for the front fender and 1200 for the rear quarter....

I think the hardest part will be matching my paint color as my car was repainted 2 years ago and i'm not sure if it's factory paint so they may get the paint off and make my car look like ****.

for 440 they said they'll fix the dent in the front fender and repaint the whole fender and replace the rock guard. brining the car in next tuesday.

my quarter panel i'm not going to get fixed until fall as I don't have the cash rigth now.

you guys think i'd be cheaper if I buy a used fender and get the body shop to just paint it for me or will that be more trouble?
