Default Funky Phone Dial Photos? Looking for something different...

Looking to add a bit of funk to my 944. Thinking of getting my phone dials chromed...or possibly refinished in a brushed aluminum style. Any photos out there showing something similar? Not that I don't like the standard silver paint but hoping someone has tried something different and has a photo to show.

All you late offset guys burn my ***!! You get to pick and choose what wheels look best on your car. Us early guys have to have **** specially made or get 16" old *** wheels.... BITE ME!

(sarcastically of course) lol

For the OP, I too think black centers with a polished lip looks nice

There are an early offset cup II replica set FS right now... I would MUCH rather have the look of the Cup II over my Boxter twists... but for $350 the price for the set was right

BTW... Don't hate the player, hate the game....

This debate comes up every so often -- and someone will mention orange phonedials. Orange is never popular as this poll shows: https://rennlist.com/forums/924-931-...or-choice.html.

I have a set of white phone dials, but they are impossible to keep clean.

I've seen chromed ones before.....yyuuuucccchhhhhhh. I've also seen polished ones. They look pretty nice but it's going to depend on the castings you have, some of them aren't all that great. I really thought about having the centers painted and the lips polished. But I would pass on the chrome.

A LOT of sanding, some stretching to get them out to 17, and 15 lbs per wheel of body filler... but not too bad, over all decent finish....

NOT OT, but a side note, I highly reccomend to ANYONE considering painting a set of wheels... Color the INSIDE of the wheel black... especialy if the wheel is open faced (like my twists) it makes brake dust unrecognisable, you only notice it was there after it is washed off... now on the face you will still see brake dust, but inside the wheel... much nicer over all look IMHO...

Anodized gold look. Failed experiment b/c it ended up looking WAY too green, so I'm back to silver for now.

The masterpieces in process:

What about a nice gold center with polished lips ? I thought about doing mine that way. I think it would look nice on a red car.

Here's what I did to mine:

And I completely agree with the black on the inside. It's the only way to do it right.
