Rebuilding Koni's?
After getting the whole strut assembly off of the car, trying to replace my shocks, i found out that my car has koni adjustables. This doesn't help too much, considering they are way shot. Then to find out that the KYB's (Don't say "Yuck" ) my friend sold to me are the wrong part... I ended up taking the whole damn strut from an 83 944 parts car that he has (KYB's only a little less shot than my Konis) and installed those with some less worn out springs. But, now that i have a buggered set of Konis, is there anything i can do with them? They appear to be OEM (Date on side says 6/84), or someone replaced them shortly after the car was purchased. Are they rebuildable? Could a susp. shop replace some seals, some oil, and make them work at a reasonable price?
Thanks,
Aston

Is this process a Koni only sort of thing, or would a local shop be able to rebuild these, Is there some sort of kit i could purchase to rebuild them myself? It seems all that would need to be replaced would be the seals and the oil. 135 apiece + 2 way shipping sounds like it would come close to the 150 apiece you sell them for new, Skip. Thanks for the info though!

Because they are worth more than that after being rebuilt.
They can also be custom valved.

Koni, or an authorized Koni rebuilder such as Truechoice. Includes new seals, o-rings and repainting. More options available at additional cost. This service is not available for the 8641 strut inserts.

A strange coincidence...
