Default widest tires on 924S

I tried search... no dice.

I'm wondering if 7" turbo S club sports with 225s would fit.

Anyone know?

Are those 16"? Also, what profile on the tires? I know my 15x7 phonies with 225/50/15 RA1's just slightly rub the inner fender well. I run about 3* negative camber though, so that may be the reason.

If you run a very short side wall with 16"s you might be okay. But I would venture that 225/45/16 or 225/50/16 would rub, especially under load.

yeah, they're either 225/50/16 or 225/55/16. Oh well. I was hoping to loan them to a buddy for a track event.

I run Front-205/55/16 and the rears are 225/50/16. I had to add small spacers on the front, but that was all. They run great.

I have a set of 225/50/16 mounted on 16x7 phones that work on my 924S, rear is a little tight but nothing a little neg. camber couldn't cure. I've run them in the rain at the track also without issues. They only rubbed in the back when I was running a street alignment and had some weight in the hatch.

225/50/15s on the front of my early on 7" wheels, car has lowering springs and overall is dropped about 2" in the front from stock height. no rubbing issues, but i got the 50s after my 225/60s rubbed the fender

camber should be stock.

I have late 951 phone dials front and rear, so 16x7" up front and 16x8" in the back. At stock ride height with a street alignment (eg no crazy camber) I don't get any rubbing. I have 205/55r16 Continental tires up front and 225/50r16 in the rear. In my opinion, it handles really sharply. I would have no fear about putting 7" wide wheels at all corners, but I doubt that 8" wide would fit up front without some bodywork (eg 924 D-prod body kit or 924 carrera/944 body work)

I'm running late 16" PD wheels with 205 x 50 front and 225 x 45 rear. The tires are the Hankook Ventus RS-2 (nice grippy tire). Negative one degree camber rear and negative 3 degrees front. The front inner side wall is really close to my strut spring but I haven't seen any evidence of rubbing. The front struts also have 1" lowering spring.

I have the 16" boxster "split star" wheels with 225/50 rear, 205/55 front. Slight rub in the rear with old toyos, but the new tires don't rub at all. Idealy I should probably have another degree of camber in the rear which I am sure would elimanate any chances of rubbing. Remember a 924S has early offset chassis with late offset wheels to fit. I had spacers on the front so the wheels would clear the hub center. I machined the center of the wheels a few millimeters to clear the grease cap. Now everything is lined up and the lugs are fully seated. I would recommend this for any car going to the track. I also put the Weltmeister poly control arm bushings (fr. and rr) to help handle the extra forces from the larger wheels. I will never put the 15 phonies back on. In fact the original wheels look new and still have the original tires on them because the previous (original) owner put the forged 928S wheels on right after he bought the car. I have 3 sets of wheels.
