What kind of power did it give you? Nice sounding exhaust if I say so myself.

Next thing you need is suspension!

The car made 269.4 Hp and 263.8 Foot pounds of torque at the wheels. Suspension is next on my list of things to do. I am thinking of doing coil-overs on all four corners.
I plan on taking it to Sac Raceway very soon to get 1/4 mile times.

To be honest, I am not really interested in 1/4 mile times. What is the fascination with 1/4 mile times? All that proves is that you can go straight. When did Porsche start making drag racers? When did drag racing become so cool? What are you expecting? 13 seconds? Whew, rocket-fast.

And what really cracks me up, is that everyone seems to be determined to make the stupidest cars drag race. Porsches, Hondas, Mazdas, Acuras, ect. If you want to have an impressively fast drag car, buy an old Mopar or Chevy POS. Drop about 2 grand into it, and turn 9's. Drop about 3 grand into it and turn 8's. For the price of a supercharger for your Porsche, you could have a frame-twisting beast that runs low 8's. My neighbor has an old POS chevy minitruck with a LT1 in it, runs low 9's with slicks. Total cost, around $3500. And it scares the **** out of people when he takes em for rides.

All you are gonna get out of your Porsche is some snickers from people when you blow your engine. Or some snickers when your hotrod Porsche screams down the track for a 13.7.

Why do so many people seem determined to make our cars something the arent? Its like those crotch-bugs from the 996T forum. Who gives a rats *** how fast they can go in their pimp Supras? Real track racers scorn them, and real drag racers scorn them. I mean, real drag racers run 3000HP Top Fuel cars, and real track raceres use real track cars. The only people they are impressing are themselves.

Just my opinion. Its your car, your money. But can noone else see the irony?

Do you get to keep the AC with the SFR Supercharger?

Word up brother. Drag racing done maybe for the thrill, but aside from that.. but I think times would be pointless.

Point well taken, nonetheless: Porsche doesn't make drag racers. I'm sure most people here would agree, but then again, does anyone care...? That superchager is screaming for track time. At least you'll be able to drive the car more than 15 seconds and challenge yourself to making lefts and rights at speed. That takes skill *I* haven't even got.

That is one great sounding exhaust. Sweet car. Make sure you do some suspension on it quick though. Brakes on the S2 are more than adequate...But if you're going for look, I'd just get zimmerman cross drilled rotors.

What exhaust system do you have on it? It definitely doesn't sound OEM.

Ummm... Maybe it's a way to get a 'before & after' measure of the value of an engine mod (the topic of this thread)? Peak HP & torque values from the dyno are interesting; 1/4 mile times are also of use, simple to get, universally understood, and maybe less subject to variations in testing method.

(BTW, Michael, congratulations! Keep us posted on all issues that arise, or hopefully, don't arise.)

No, I'm _not_ advocating Porsches as dragsters.. but I _am_ in favor of the scientific method, or even the semi-scientific method. Of course, there's bench racing...

Jim... bench racing's _always_ accurate...

COOL S2!!
Water944T,
I agree who cares about 1/4 mi. times! It's 60-120 I'm after : )
When my motor blows, I'll have it rebuilt with more displacement. : )
I am just wondering are chips ok? what about MAF's? exhaust mods? stand alone?, different turbos?
Considering your quote from Ben Franklin, would you like to be the one to determine what levels of mods are OK?? I don't really understand why someone modifiying their car would bother you?
I mean "snickers when they blow their motors" I think that statement speaks for itself.
Why did Porsche build a 944TS wasn't the 944T fast enough? What about a Twin Turbo? then the GT 2, they must be crazy! For that matter do you even need a 944T, I mean using your logic, are you ever going to drive that car at the limits on the street, NO! So, I think everyone should have a STOCK 944.
Like you said, "your car, your money"
BTW-I am a REAL RACER w/A REAL RACECAR : )

Thank you, someone has a clue. It gives another indication of how fast the car is...IMAGINE THAT!! Even if he's not a pro at launching the car, the trap speed should still tell a lot about how fast the car is now.

I feel that a great sports car must be able to handle and accelerate fast in a straight line. I do not normaly drag race, I prefer auto crossing, but I want to use the 1/4 mile time as a measurement of the cars before and after acceleration performance.

The exhaust is a custom system using a high flow cat, a magnaflow bullit type muffler and a magnaflow muffler.

The AC was removed for the Supercharger.
Thanks for the input.

I just wanted to vouch for Mikes driving abilities;^) On the first test run with Mike he got sideways right as we left the parking lot. I was a bit nervous because I didnt know if Mike could drive or not and I was in the passenger seat:^0 Apparently he can drive because he was able to get the tail to come back around with out incident.
