Someone mentioned Primus/JWaRCD - good call. SOOO, god, it's been awhile since I listened to those guys, but Wynona's Big Brown Beaver does NOT "automatically blow" - and that's a country song at heart!

We all have a different idea of what good music is too.

Les Claypool - The greatest bassist ever. Though I agree it's got a bit of a southern twist to the song, I wouldn't affiliate Wynona's Big Brown Beaver with country...mainly because I think country sucks

[quote] I wish JAMC had used full band instead of drum machines etc

What about Bobby Gillespie? He may have only had the one drum but he was technically the drummer (Before you tell me, I know he left after Psychocandy).

JAMC vs ZZTop??! what next? Marilyn Manson vs Dionne Warwick, Tony Bennett vs Notorious B.I.G.

re. Husker Du, 'the Living End' remains one of the greatest live albums ever made and 'Land Speed Record' is unlistenable at any speed. That kind of sums up the nature of their output.

I love reading about everyone's musical taste & opinions, it says a lot more about us than we know.

One last thing, what the hell is this? It's been bugging me for weeks, the rest I understand.

finally!! i was waiting for someone to download that song and see how much *** it kicks! admittedly it is one of the best atmosphere songs that I have ever heard, but there are a few others that are on the same level. I have mp3's of two of those, which i'll link to below. if you want to hear more, look for the hidden track at the end of the last song on the "overcast!" lp... i'm not sure if it has an official name, i call it "white trash ho" and it's one of the most hilarious songs i've ever heard, but maybe only because i grew up around those kind of folks. also i just picked up his newest CD "god loves ugly"... tracks 4 (f*@k you lucy) and 5 (hair) are both amazing. also the production is a few orders of magnitude better on the new cd... apparently he's not recording in his buddy's basement anymore. unfortunately i don't have mp3's of any of those.

anyway, check these two out; no car content, but the first one is more clever ryhming and the second is.... well... not like any other "hip hop" i've ever heard.
