I'd have to second (or third?) the request for "Buck Rogers" by Feeder! The song from "behind enemy lines!"

I HAD JUST found this song and had been looking for it for a long time just before I read this thread! It's great when I'm driving in the car! ( at 150mph!)

I have the Knight Rider theme in my car. Another good song is "Children" by Robert Miles.

"Welcome To The Boomtown" is by David & David, I think its a pretty cool song, I like picking songs from the year my car was made. I just thought of another of my favorites that fit that criterion.

Relax - Franki goes to Hollywood (The bass line just THUMPS!)

99 Luftballons - German Version - Nena

good idea trevor

alright people i see a lot of good songs listed but we are looking for DRIVING music, and no, zappa is not driving music! (sorry timC... i respect your superior musical prowess and will second your suggestion of "jesus built my hotrod")

spacecowboy you should go edit that post before someone sees that you suggested the cardigans. they have commited an unforgivable musical sin by profaning "ironman" and should be forever relegated to the status of "that wussy crap that my girlfriend isn't allowed to play in my car".

there are so many awesome driving songs out there that i think we should limit this cd to songs with a car or driving oriented theme, although that does rule out a lot of really awesome songs and give consideration to a lot of cake songs that otherwise don't deserve it. and despite this reccomendation i think that "i can't drive 55" is a really annoying song and should not be included.

most of you probably hate all hip-hop on principle except for the ones who like whatever comes on trl, so this is a name that won't ring any bells, but i highly reccomend "free or dead" by atmosphere. it is clever, has a cool beat and a relevant theme. it's my official "leaving" song that i play whenever i'm starting a road trip. hey ribs, if i email an mp3 of this song to you, could you post it?

another great song to get pumped up for a drive is the beastie boys' "high plains drifter". it's funny and fast has a few car-related lines.

I was driving the other day and Tom Petty American Girl came on and this thread came to mind I will not be selfish this is the only track I will request. This is a great song that everyone knows the words to, and sounds best with the top down and driving fast!

Inspection - Leftfield (relentless bassline)

Manta Ray - Pixies (relentless - full stop)

Feel Good Hit of the Summer - Queens of the Stone Age (makes you drive fast and might net you a full cavity search if blaring from your vehicle when pulled over)

Carmina Burana - Carl Orff (huge, loud, epic, perfect way to acquire goosebumps - you ALL know it - The Omen)

Bohemian Like You - The Dandy Warhols (as well as being a cracking tune it also contains the line 'you've got a great car... yeah what's wrong with it today?' - how much more appropriate can you get.)

Slipknot
Slayer
Soulfly
Sepultura
Deftones
