Default .....and the finished product.

Okay, well, the product as it stands. I've never had a finished product, and I've owned a lot of them. But, here's what it looks like, now. I'm going to give it another month or so before I put on the stone guards. Got most of the rear suspension (solid mounts for torsion tube) and Leda's installed. Spherical bearing bushings are next on the list. I'll eventually find some fogs, too.

Tempting, but I have a list long enough with my 86' to keep me going for the next couple of years it seems like lol.

Harry, the car looks stunning! I am glad to see it back to it's former glory. How long until it hits the track?

You '86 was certainly a stunning car before the incident. No doubt it'll be nice again, soon. Trust me, as a man with too many projects, having one is plenty.

Target for first track event in October 17-18 at Road Atlanta.

Awesome!!! Great job, that looks very clean and nicely done! Painting your own car is one of the most gratifying DIY's you can possibly do in my opinion, at least through my own experiences!

I cleaned the car and drove it to Road Altanta yesterday to meet the new owner at a DE event that was going on. He plans on having it repainted and using it as a driver/DE car. His father-in-law has a 951 track car and a 944S2, so I think it will be in good hands. The car ran absolutely flawlessly for the trip which is always a plus. Here is a final picture as we parted ways.

One year later, things are a little different!

Car drove like a dream. In addition to the paint, I've put on Ledas, Racer's Edge Spherical bushings, solid torsion bar mounts, and delrin spring plate bushings, and was running with Hawk Blue pads and Hoosier R6's. Saturday was a bit, okay, it was BAD. Rain all day, and I was on hard 10 year old rains. Sunday was different. I'm just a Group 3 DE guy, but I was one of the fastest out there. I got gridded first on the last session, just ahea of a Z06. I let him pass me early on - that guy was a great driver, he flat out left me. Several laps later, I let a GT3 pass me on the back straight. I caught him under braking in 10A, and he could not shake me. Got a little bit ahead of me on the front straight, but I caught up with him again at turn 2. He couldn't shake me, and I stayed with him from there until exit of turn 7, when we were back on the back straight, and he left me like I was sitting still. I ended up lapping a few cars, and caught up with several others. Absolutely phenomenal car. Did not burn a drop of oil the whole weekend, much to my surprise.
